Today we’d like to introduce you to Abisola Nwanze.
Hi Abisola, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
This journey started in 2018. By profession, I’m a physiotherapist, but I’ve always had a deep love for food and photography. I would spend hours admiring food photos, reading about food styling, photography and dreaming about capturing beautiful plates all day long. At the time, I wasn’t entirely sure where it would all lead, but I knew I wanted more.
Through divine direction, truly, God be praised
I received my very first order in July 2018. That moment marked the birth of 9jafoodpot. I found myself drawn deeper into the world of cooking. taking classes, learning, and growing. It was unfamiliar territory at first, but I leaned into it with curiosity and commitment. Learning hasn’t stopped since then, and for every experience both big and small, I remain deeply grateful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

I wouldn’t say it’s been smooth. Any real growth comes with its fair share of challenges. In the beginning, it was mastering recipes, figuring out pricing, and managing day to day operations, all while balancing life as a mom of four.
There were mistakes (like my first attempt at meat pies, I nearly gave up!). But here I am, years later, having made more meat pies than I can count. Each challenge has taught me something, adding to my experience. Resilience!, you have to keep showing up, even when it’s tough.
We’ve been impressed with 9jafoodpot , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
9jafoodpot. We specialize in catering, bites (small chops& co) and drinks.
Nigerian meals served to both homes and events.
We’re known for our luxe catering setups and a diverse menu that goes beyond Nigerian staples, Whether it’s a baby shower, office lunch, wedding, or private dinner, we serve food that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.
What sets us apart is the intentional experience we create; Good food, the presentation, attention to details, and all that makes every client feel celebrated.
We also ship meals within the U.S. bringing a taste of home to clients out of states.
I’m most proud of the journey brand wise: how 9jafoodpot has grown from a single order into a brand that now caters events, ships meals across the U.S., and keeps learning and evolving with each step.

None. I see everything as the Grace and favor of God. Nothing has been by chance.
