Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Olsen.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Huntsville, Texas, and grew up around land, ranching, and agriculture. I showed cattle growing up, which gave me an early understanding of land use, property functionality, and the business side of rural operations. Those experiences created a natural foundation for what would eventually become my career in real estate.
I got my real estate license right out of high school, my mom encouraged me to try it, and what began as a small opportunity quickly grew into a full-scale passion. I became fascinated with the strategy behind real estate: evaluating land, understanding highest and best use, marketing property at scale, and navigating complex deals. I worked hard to gain experience across residential, land, and eventually commercial real estate, because I knew I wanted a more diversified business model.
Over the years, that vision grew into The Adam Olsen Team and The Commercial Professionals. Today, I’ve been involved in over 5,000 transactions, with extensive experience in ranches, development, commercial assets, and investment properties. My background in agriculture has been extremely valuable. I understood the land, the soil, the fencing, the operations, and the economics in a way most residential agents don’t. That insight has helped me advise clients on everything from working ranches and recreational tracts to large-scale subdivisions, retail development sites, industrial locations, and mixed-use projects.
As our commercial division grew, so did our client base.We have worked with Fortune 500 companies, publicly traded firms, investment groups, developers, national retail brands, and private equity clients, helping them analyze sites, structure acquisitions, and position assets for long-term value. Through my CCIM training and Commercial Academy network, I’ve built relationships with investors and developers across the U.S. and internationally, leading to opportunities in South America, Costa Rica, South Africa, and other global markets.
On the marketing side, we built a platform that became one of the most influential real estate marketing engines in Texas. Our social media reach consistently exceeds 1 million people per month on Facebook, with 110,000+ followers on Instagram, giving our commercial and development listings unmatched visibility. That digital footprint, paired with strong analytics, aerial mapping, and strategic syndication became a major differentiator for us.
Under my leadership, our teams have become recognized as one of the Top 3 real estate teams in Texas and Top 5 in the U.S. for transactions sold (REAL Trends / The Wall Street Journal). We consistently maintain 140+ active commercial listings and 300+ residential & land listings, and we’ve built a model based on expertise, innovation, and performance.
Looking back, I started as a kid in Huntsville raising show cattle. Today, I advise on land acquisitions, commercial development, and investment strategy at a statewide and global scale. My focus has always been the same: operate at a high level, deliver results, and raise the standard of professionalism in real estate.
And in many ways, we’ve only just begun.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely not been smooth but the challenges have been some of the greatest catalysts for growth in my career.
I started young, without a safety net or a pipeline in place. I had to learn everything through trial, error, and persistence. In the early years, I worked long hours, often seven days a week, trying to build trust and establish myself in an industry dominated by people much older and more experienced. Being young in a credibility-driven field meant I had to outwork, out-prepare, and out-perform to earn my place at the table.
As the business grew, the challenges evolved. Scaling from a solo agent into a multi-division operation required building systems, hiring and training staff, creating processes, and learning how to lead effectively. Managing dozens of agents, multiple departments, and a high-volume commercial and residential pipeline forced me to grow as a leader. Not every hire worked out, not every system worked the first time, and maintaining culture while scaling was a constant balancing act.
Commercial real estate added its own set of complexities with longer timelines, higher stakes, zoning and feasibility issues, complex negotiations, financing structures, investor expectations, and a learning curve that never really ends. There were deals that fell apart after months of work, developments that faced unexpected obstacles, and moments where I had to navigate difficult markets while keeping the team motivated.
But through all of it, I’ve learned that challenges aren’t setbacks, they’re the training ground. Every difficulty forced me to become a better broker, a better leader, and a better strategist. Nothing about this journey has been easy, but nothing worth building ever is. If anything, the struggles have been the most valuable part of the story.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is impact. The impact we make on our clients, the team, and the communities we serve. Real estate isn’t just transactions; it’s development, growth, opportunity, and long-term value creation. The work we do directly shapes cities, drives economic expansion, and affects people’s lives in meaningful ways. That responsibility is something we take seriously.
I care deeply about excellence and professionalism, because I’ve seen firsthand how much is lost both financially and emotionally when those values aren’t present. Our goal is to raise the standard in an industry where many people settle for average. Whether it’s a commercial development, a land project, or an investment acquisition, what matters to me is delivering results at a level clients can rely on.
I’m also driven by building something bigger than myself or any one person. I grew up in a small town, showed cattle, and started in real estate with no connections. Everything I’ve built came from hard work, resilience, and surrounding myself with great people. Today, creating opportunities for my team, helping them grow, succeed, and build their own futures is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do.
And personally, what matters most is integrity. Deals come and go, markets shift, circumstances change but your reputation follows you everywhere. I want to be known as someone who did things the right way, treated people well, and never cut corners. In short, what matters most is impact, excellence, opportunity, and integrity because those four things shape not only the success of our business, but the legacy we leave behind.
