Hi Alexa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My discovery of esthetics happened during the pandemic in 2020. After much research I decided to attend The Institute of Cosmetology Esthetics & Massage for the best education I could get. It took 6 months to get licensed, then I began working in a spa for 9 months before deciding to go solo. This decision not only changed my life but humbled me in ways I would’ve never imagined. It sparked a fire to become the best version of myself as a business owner and as a woman. I’ve always aspired to be an entrepreneur. Being able to do my craft simultaneously is just a blessing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is a journey, I think I learn something new everyday. Something I didn’t consider with becoming a business owner was all the business aspects if I’m being honest. The esthetic portion was a breeze, I know exactly what I’m performing in my treatment room. However, sales tax, inventory management, and liability affairs came along the way. I had to learn how to acquire an LLC and to become a business rather an esthetician. I think it’s important to know the struggles are apart of the process. Without struggles I wouldn’t have growth.
We’ve been impressed with Faced , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
FACED offers full body waxing, lymphatic drainage massage, corrective & maintenance facials as well as lash lifts and tints. All of my facials include a lymphatic massage because that’s what I feel everyone can benefit from overall. I use clinical skincare products, it does more with less and enhances all treatments. Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Many don’t know that before esthetics I had many aspirations and careers. It took many trials and tribulations to be where I am today. I was once an artist, fashion consultant, lab technician before finding my passion. It’s my dreams to eventually curate my own skincare products for anyone with any skin type or conditions.
