For many parents, the “American Dream” means building a life where you never have to choose between a fulfilling career and being truly present for your children. For Puerto Rico native Alexandra Estela, that dream meant swapping her full-time stay-at-home mom title for business owner—all while keeping family at the absolute center of her world.
After moving from Puerto Rico to the United States to provide greater opportunities for her children, Alexandra spent eleven years in Georgia. It was there that her family discovered Scoops, a beloved local sweet shop that quickly became the backdrop for countless family milestones, rainy afternoons, and celebrations with friends.
“It was the perfect place to create memories with our kids,” she recalls.
But when life called the family to Texas, they noticed a sweet-shop-shaped void in their new community. They searched for that familiar, welcoming spot where parents could unwind and kids could just be kids, but nothing quite matched the magic they left behind in Georgia.
“We knew right away that Texas needed a Scoops,” Alexandra says. “We wanted to provide a safe, unique space for local families to connect and make their own memories.”
Turning that vision into reality was a labor of love. After a dedicated two-year journey of planning, building, and perfecting, Alexandra officially opened the doors to Scoops in Fulshear. Today, she isn’t just serving up ice cream and treats; she’s serving up the same joy, warmth, and community spirit that captured her heart over a decade ago.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Getting to where we are today has been a profound journey of growth, resilience, and transformation. It began with the immense leap of faith of leaving our culture and family behind, navigating the challenges of a new environment, and fighting hard for every opportunity. Along the way, we learned the value of alignment—connecting with the right people who believed in our vision. While the path was filled with obstacles, each challenge became a lesson we overcame. Success never happens overnight, but our story is proof that with persistence, dedication, and an unwavering work ethic, anything is possible.

What truly sets this local destination apart is its unparalleled commitment to customization, starting with a rotating selection of over 32 premium ice creams, sherbets, and sorbets—thoughtfully curated to include both dairy-free and sugar-free options so everyone can indulge. From there, guests can watch their ultimate dessert come to life on a frozen top, where any of 15 premium mix-ins, from fresh strawberries and chocolate chips to crushed Oreos and Butterfinger pieces, are folded in to order.
Even the containers get an upgrade here. Moving far beyond the ordinary, Scoops takes the crunch to the next level with fresh, hand-crafted cones. Guests can choose from classic waffle and rolled cookie cones, indulge in cones hand-dipped in rich chocolate and coated in nuts or vibrant sprinkles, or try the ultimate showstopper: an exclusive, one-of-a-kind pretzel cone that strikes the perfect balance of salty and sweet.
Beyond the ice cream counter lies a full-scale haven for coffee lovers and confection connoisseurs alike. The aroma of daily brewed coffee fills the air, alongside expertly crafted hot lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, café mochas, and velvety café caramels. For a refreshing chill, the barista counter whips up blended iced coffees in decadent flavors like toffee, cookies and cream, and double fudge mocha. Meanwhile, health-conscious guests can opt for premium smoothies blended from 100% fruit juice, whole fruit, and light sherbet or sorbet for a delicious, nutrient-packed fuel boost.

As for what lies ahead, the journey is just beginning. Expansion plans are already underway to bring the magic of Scoops to more communities throughout the Lone Star State. The immediate focus is growing our footprint across the Greater Houston area—with insider whispers suggesting that a location in the Cypress area is currently being scouted. From there, the vision expands even further across Texas, with the sun-soaked shores of South Padre Island pinned as a future dream destination for the beloved sweet shop.
