Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Jolivet-Chambers.
Alexis, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My aspiration to become a nurse began early in childhood. I watched my mother dedicate many years to working in healthcare, and her compassion for others inspired me from a young age.
During my senior year of high school, my father unexpectedly passed away. That loss deeply impacted me and strengthened my desire to pursue nursing. In that moment, I promised myself that I would become a healthcare advocate for others so they would not have to face difficult medical situations without guidance or support.
At 19, I welcomed my first son. Becoming a mother further fueled my determination to build a stable career and provide the life my child deserved. Over the years, I welcomed two more sons while advancing my nursing education, progressing from an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and ultimately earning my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
Shortly after beginning my career as a nurse practitioner, I faced another life-changing moment when I stepped away from my role to focus on my then three-year-old son’s health. During that time, he was diagnosed with Autism. Advocating for him reinforced my passion for ensuring individuals and families receive the care and support they need.
After returning to practice, I recognized a growing need for accessible healthcare within my community. That realization led me to launch E-Concierge of Efficient Weight Loss & General Healthcare, a telehealth practice focused on primary care and weight management at just 29 years old.
The practice opened on April 4, 2022, and grew quickly. Within eight months, I expanded into a brick-and-mortar clinic. Today, nearly four years later, we continue to serve our community by providing compassionate, accessible, and comprehensive healthcare.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, this journey has not been without challenges. Learning how to run a business while also navigating the legal requirements of owning a nurse practitioner–led clinic in Texas was far from easy. At the time, there were very few mentorship opportunities available for someone in my position, which meant much of the process involved learning through experience.
Due to such, I have made it a personal mission to ensure that others do not have to navigate that journey alone. Today, I am dedicated to making both myself and my clinic a valuable resource for aspiring nurses and nurse practitioners who are looking for guidance, mentorship, and insight as they pursue their own paths in healthcare and entrepreneurship.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about E-Concierge of Efficient Weight Loss & General Healthcare?
My clinic is a primary care and weight loss practice that focuses on overall health and well-being in the adult population. The clinic follows a direct primary care approach, which means healthcare services are offered at an affordable cost without the need for traditional health insurance, although health insurance is also accepted.
Primary care visits are offered at $55, and labs can be collected directly in the clinic starting as low as $5. Our weight loss services include new patient consultations at $95 and established patient visits at $65, with weight loss medications and supplements starting as low as $12. We also offer additional wellness services such as lipodissolve treatments and IV vitamin therapy.
I believe offering affordable pricing is what sets my clinic apart from others. Providing affordable pricing is extremely important to me, because I believe no one should have to compromise receiving quality healthcare due to lack of insurance coverage or expensive medical costs.
Although we are a small clinic, that is what makes our environment special. We pride ourselves on being family-oriented, where patients feel seen, heard, and valued. We understand the level of trust patients place in us to manage their healthcare, and we take that responsibility very seriously. Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Compassion has been one of the most important qualities contributing to my success because it allows me to truly connect with the people I serve. Healthcare is not just about diagnosing conditions, it’s about understanding the person behind the patient. Leading with compassion helps me listen, recognize individual needs, and create an environment where patients feel comfortable, respected, and heard.
My personal life experiences has strengthened that compassion quality and shaped how I approach caring for others.
That same compassion also guides how I run my clinic. I strive to keep healthcare affordable and accessible while creating a welcoming, family-oriented environment where patients know their health and trust truly matter.
