Hi Alishbah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Sure! Like many entrepreneurs, my story starts with a layoff—and a wake-up call.
After graduating from Babson College, I spent 15+ years climbing the corporate marketing ladder, eventually becoming a Director of Marketing for an energy company here in Houston. I loved the strategy, the creativity, and leading a team—but after getting laid off twice, I realized the thing I thought was stable… wasn’t.
Around the same time, I become a mom of twins (who are now 6.5 and added a baby boy to the mix, now 2.5), and I knew I needed more flexibility and more purpose. So I started freelancing and quickly saw a huge gap:
Small businesses—especially the family-run, community-serving ones—were drowning in DIY marketing, stuck trying to do everything themselves, and burned out from trying to “keep up” online.
I saw so many brilliant, hardworking business owners doing amazing work… but getting zero visibility. That’s when I launched ALD Creative Solutions—a full-service, done-for-you marketing agency built to help small businesses finally get the attention they deserve online.
Now, we handle everything from social media, email, and websites to paid ads and even AI tools—all tailored to the brand, not just slapped together. I like to say we help our clients go from wearing all the hats to CEO mode—with strategy, support, and a marketing plan that actually works.
It’s been a wild ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I get to help other women grow their businesses, their visibility, and their confidence—and I get to do it on my terms.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
HA! Let’s be honest—nothing about entrepreneurship is “smooth.”
It’s more like a rollercoaster ride, and you’re holding a laptop in one hand and a toddler snack in the other.
One of the biggest struggles was shifting my mindset. Coming from a corporate background, I was used to clocking in and clocking out. When I started my business, it was just me—wearing all the hats, staying up late nights to finish projects, and working through nap times. I had to learn that just because I was great at something, it didn’t mean sales came knocking at the door. I had to learn to rely on myself. I was my own strategist, designer, admin, sales, social media manager, snack distributor… you name it. And I learned I was worth investing in and getting the help when I needed it.
And honestly? It was overwhelming at times. I had to unlearn perfectionism, learn how to trust my gut, and figure out how to market myself and feel worthy of my success. That’s a whole different level of vulnerability.
There were seasons when I questioned if I should go back to corporate. But every time I helped a small business owner finally feel confident about their marketing—or saw their face light up when they heard their brand messaging reflected back at them clearly—I knew I was exactly where I needed to be.
Juggling motherhood, business-building, and mindset work hasn’t been easy. But I’ve learned how to ask for help, set boundaries, and build systems that support both me and my clients. And now I get to help other business owners skip some of those same mistakes.

Another thing people might not know: I didn’t dream of owning a business. I just dreamed of showing my kids the kind of life they could have, if they put their soul into it.
Entrepreneurship just turned out to be the most aligned path to make that happen—on my terms, in my voice, and in a way that lets me show my kids what it looks like to bet on yourself.
