Exploring Life & Business with Andrea Barnes of Luxury Bounce Events and Barnes Financial Services-HTX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Barnes.

Andrea Barnes

Hi Andrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, I found my way to Houston, Texas, as an educator by trade. I knew I could teach anywhere in the world, but I moved here in 2017, right before Hurricane Harvey. Houston is extremely diverse and has a lot of young people doing big things, so I figured I could make a great living here. As soon as I settled in, I joined the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show as a committee member. Now residing in Katy, Texas, I have enjoyed every moment exploring the city, learning, and meeting new people.

Though I’ve been an educator for a decade, I knew I wanted to explore the route of becoming an entrepreneur. I remember when I was younger, my parents would take me to the store; I’d buy candy bars or anything I could find at a wholesale price to resale to my neighbors in our neighborhood. The passion for entrepreneurship, like teaching, was always there.

In 2020, I became a first-time mom during the pandemic. My daughter, Mariana (3 yrs. old), taught me to be even more courageous, dependable, and intuitive. Through my Faith in God and my life coach, I was able to find who I was again, more than just being a mom.

In 2021, I met my husband Camron and gained a son, Carter (6 yrs. old). From the start, we strengthened our relationship and mended our blended family. We were very driven and became real estate investors with multiple properties right away. We were blessed to be able to start two business together at once. This past year, I birthed another beautiful daughter, Camia (5 months old). And became an owner and CEO of Luxury Bounce Events, LLC while co-owning Barnes Financial Services-HTX, LLC with my husband, who is an accountant. We pride ourselves on not only being business owners but working every day at thriving to be purposeful, present parents for our children.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been considerably easy. Due to moving to Houston, Texas, and leaving family, friends, and networks behind in Kansas City, Missouri. It was a struggle to find a niche group in order to build community. After living in Houston for a couple of years, I had become a single mom to my three-year-old daughter. Through my faith in God, a ton of prayer from family, and getting involved with my church, I made it through the days of feeling less than what I was born to be. I was created for a purpose, and I plan to live that out on a daily basis, whether it’s while I’m teaching a student in the classroom, encouraging another educator, helping a client with their upcoming events, or at home giving 100% to my spouse and kids. I’ve learned to never give from an empty cup; in order for me to be able to be who I need to be for others, I must first boost my faith, take care of my health, and be prepared for all that life has to give. I am blessed in order to be a blessing.
