Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Rosales.
Hi Angel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been an entrepreneur at heart. When I was in elementary school, I had a stand that sold Kool-Aid and popcorn. I would post up early Saturday morning right out front of a party house. The guy that lived there would come out in the morning, hungover, and buy me out. It was great.
I also had a dog poop removal service in elementary school. You have to remember this was the 80’s, so this type of thing wasn’t around. In the 90’s I sold candy at school. Mid 2000’s I had a t-shirt printing business. Unfortunately, I had no one to teach me about investing back then, so that money went nowhere.
Today I am involved in multiple businesses. Some I just invest in and others I am hands-on. Our largest client is the Tejano Center for Community Concerns. It is a nonprofit that does great things for the city of Houston. I have teamed up with another company, Nieto Technology Partners, to oversee their IT needs. They are led by CEO, Daniel Saenz. It is a blast working with other IT nerds like myself, that are just as friendly and positive.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My journey has been enjoyable, but undoubtedly not easy. A little rougher than anticipated. I’ve had medical issues get in the way. Potentially good Investments go bust. The list goes on. Sometimes I simply did things wrong. The lesson is more important the bigger the error. Even if I still make mistakes, they are getting smaller and less frequent.
The most difficult part of all was not being financially educated. No one in my life was. But I persisted, took some business classes and watched a lot of YouTube videos on finance. Shout out to Minority Mindset!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Burn The Original became an LLC in early 2022. We are a holding company based in Houston, TX. We start, buy and invest in amazing companies.
We also oversee an IT Service team. We offer IT support remotely and in person. Our services cater primarily to small/medium businesses, but since teaming up with Nieto Technology Partners, we can handle any client’s needs.
My brand has become a symbol of fun and freedom to my kids. My kids want to do what I do and I couldn’t be more proud. They make all the hard work worth it.
Speaking of my kids, they love to play video games. With their help I have begun designing a video game. It’s an 80’s style side scroller. We’ve made progress and the game is somewhat playable. We hope to have it completed early next year. I’ll post updates on our YouTube channel.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Playing video games with my kids, hanging out with my awesome wife, pajama pants, super soft t-shirts and my pink rabbit onesie. I love that thing!
Hamburgers also make me happy. They are my favorite food. I teamed up with burger-chan a few years ago and they make my favorite burgers. Ugh, now I want one! If you haven’t had a burger-chan burger, you’re missing out!
