Hi Anitra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started back when the pandemic hit in 2020. It was Father’s Day and I wanted to do something special for a couple of dads I knew. I decided to look on Pinterest to see what I could do with candy but I wanted to do something different Than what I was seeing, so I decided to put my creative spin on it. And once I was done, it looked so nice and I gifted a couple of them out to the fathers.
They really appreciated the gift and told me I should start selling them, so I did! And as time went by, my craft has gotten so much better! My business had expanded and everything is wonderful! I’m very grateful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can’t say it has always been smooth. My biggest challenges come from drying my boxes. I can dry them and then days before the order goes out, something can happen and ruin all of the boxes.
And let me tell you, there were definitely tears! However, I always get it done before the ship date because once I make a promise to my buyer, I intend to keep it. It took a lot of trial and error to get it to where I wanted it but nothing great comes easy!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Kreative Krafts LLC is known for creating Candy Explosion Boxes and holiday baskets. Kreative Krafts Explosion Box has been a great hit for a few years. Each box comes with 3 layers and when each layer is opened, the boxes fall down, leaving you with candy and surprises in each layer. Anything you may want can be included inside of the box, including glitter, and some of them also come with butterflies for an extra surprise! In the last layer, you have the choice to add liquor or extra candy, a gift card, or anything you’d like. What sets me apart from others is the love I put into each gift. I created personalized themes and wraps for each customer if requested. If your son loves basketball, I will create a basketball-themed explosion box for him! I am very proud of how far I’ve come from starting in a pandemic to now! That’s a great deal for me because when the world was at home going through God knows what, I knew that my Explosion Box would be able to cheer them up. I’ve gotten so much feedback from my customers saying how this gift has lifted so many spirits and that’s what it’s all about! If this gift can make you smile, then I did my part! Kreative Krafts also sponsors homeless drives every year in December so all proceeds from orders in December will be donated to the homeless drive.
I also offer raffles throughout the year. I love my customers and I want to show that I appreciate them. My holiday baskets are also filled with candy and extra goodies per the holiday. I love making them and filling them up with love and joy! I enjoy what I do and it truly makes me happy.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
The Bible would have to be the best book for me. When times of trouble come, I can always open it and receive encouragement. And Spotify has been my go-to when I’m in my zone! I need my music, and Spotify never fails me!
