Exploring Life & Business with Aracelys And Asleyda Bracho of Joyas La Gloria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aracelys And Asleyda Bracho.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our Story
If someone had told us years ago that the dream born in Venezuela would one day open its doors in Texas, we probably would have smiled with hope, never imagining everything we would go through to make it a reality.
Our story began many years ago in Venezuela. We worked selling gold jewelry, and it was during that time that we began sharing a dream as sisters: one day owning our own jewelry store. We dreamed of creating a place where we could offer exceptional quality jewelry while providing every customer with honest, personal, and trustworthy service. That dream stayed with us even after we immigrated to the United States.
As time went on, we decided to take the first step. We began selling Italian 18K gold jewelry through social media. Little by little, we built a loyal customer base and learned more about the business every day. Every sale represented another opportunity to move closer to our dream, and everything we earned was reinvested back into the business. We knew that great dreams are not built overnight.
Then, just as we were beginning to move forward, our lives changed completely.
Our mother became ill.
At that moment, we realized that the business could wait. What truly mattered was being by her side. We put the project on hold so we could dedicate all our time, love, and care to her throughout her illness. Those were very difficult moments for our family, but they also taught us the true meaning of love, strength, and unity.
When our mother passed into the presence of God, she left an immeasurable void in our lives, but she also gave us the strength to continue pursuing the dream we had always shared with her. Resuming the project became our way of honoring her. We knew she would have wanted us to keep moving forward and fulfill the dream we had talked about so many times as a family. Opening our jewelry store did not mean leaving our grief behind; it meant transforming that love into a legacy that would forever carry her name.
It was then that we made a decision that came straight from our hearts: if we were ever able to open our jewelry store, it would bear our mother’s name.
That is how Joyas La Gloria was born.
We did not choose that name as a marketing strategy. We chose it because we wanted our mother’s name to remain with us every single day. She taught us the value of honest work, the importance of family, perseverance, and never giving up. Today, we feel that her legacy lives on in every customer we serve and in every step we take.
Resuming the project also meant beginning an entirely new journey.
As immigrants, finding authentic Italian 18K gold in a market where 10K and 14K jewelry are far more common became one of our greatest challenges. We spent a great deal of time searching for trustworthy suppliers, learning about importing jewelry, and carefully selecting pieces that reflected the quality we had always dreamed of offering. It took years of investment, sacrifice, and countless trials before we finally found the right path.
But the jewelry itself was only part of the challenge.
We also had to learn from the ground up how to build a business in the United States. Understanding legal requirements, taxes, forming our company, developing administrative systems, managing inventory, building a website, navigating e-commerce, and finding financial partners that would allow us to offer financing options to our customers were all completely new challenges for us. Every obstacle became an opportunity to learn and grow.
Throughout this journey, we were never alone.
Our family has been an essential part of this dream. Thanks to teamwork and the support of our family, each of us has contributed our strengths to make this family business a reality.
Today, Joyas La Gloria represents so much more than a jewelry store.
It represents a dream that began many years ago between two sisters in Venezuela.
It represents the love of two daughters who chose to transform their mother’s legacy into a dream come true.
It represents the determination of an immigrant family that chose to start over without ever giving up on its dreams.
And it represents the belief that when work is built on perseverance, honesty, family unity, and faith in God, dreams truly can come true.
Our greatest wish is that everyone who walks into Joyas La Gloria finds much more than a beautiful piece of Italian 18K gold jewelry. We hope they find trust, quality, warmth, and a place where every customer is welcomed with the same love and dedication with which we built this dream.
We know there is still a long road ahead, but we also know that our story is only just beginning.
And every time we see the name Joyas La Gloria on the front of our store, we feel that our mother is still walking beside us, reminding us that dreams never die when they are born from love and hope.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been an easy journey. Starting a business always comes with uncertainty, but doing so as immigrants in a new country brings an entirely different set of challenges.
One of our biggest obstacles was finding reliable suppliers of authentic Italian 18K gold. In the United States, the jewelry market is largely dominated by 10K and 14K gold, but from the very beginning, we knew we wanted to offer high quality 18K pieces. That meant spending a great deal of time researching suppliers, building trustworthy relationships, and learning about the import process to ensure we could provide exactly what we had envisioned.
Another major challenge was learning everything involved in building and managing a business in the United States. We had to understand legal requirements, taxes, licensing, inventory management, e-commerce, websites, and technology that was completely new to us. Much of what we know today came through trial and error, but we never allowed setbacks to discourage us.
It was also challenging to invest in the business for years without seeing immediate results. We consistently reinvested everything we earned because we believed we were building something meaningful for the future. There were moments of uncertainty, but we always reminded ourselves why we had started this journey.
Without question, the most difficult challenge was putting our dream on hold when our mother became ill. During that time, we realized that family had to come before business. Although it was one of the hardest seasons of our lives, it strengthened our bond as a family and reminded us of what truly matters.
Looking back, we can honestly say that every obstacle helped prepare us for where we are today. Each challenge made us stronger, taught us valuable lessons, and reinforced our belief that perseverance, teamwork, and faith can open doors even when the path ahead seems uncertain.
