Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Palmer.
Hi Ashlee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey has really been about growth, perseverance, faith and learning to trust God through every season. I started my career after earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and working in social services. A field that taught me so much about people, compassion and strength. I later earned my Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and continued to challenge myself professionally.
Life also took me through a very personal season of transformation. After going through a divorce, I found myself navigating life as a single mother and having to rebuild different areas of my life while continuing to show up for my child, my career and those around me. That season wasn’t always easy, but it brought me closer to God in a way I had never experienced before. My relationship with Him became the foundation that reminded me that what looks like an ending can actually be the beginning of something greater.
As my faith grew, so did my willingness to take risks. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial side that I knew I couldn’t ignore.
I became a licensed Real Estate Agent and explored entrepreneurship through real estate, short-term rentals and the automotive rental space. Each experience taught me something different about business, relationships, resilience and most importantly, myself.
Now, I’m stepping into a chapter I’ve always dreamed about: Content Creation. I’ve always had a creative side and a desire to share my life, my experiences, my faith and the things I’m passionate about. For a long time, I didn’t necessarily see how all of my different experiences connected but now I realize they were all preparing me for this moment. It’s something I’ve always genuinely wanted to pursue but for a long time, I allowed life, responsibilities and the fear of stepping outside of what was familiar to hold me back. Today, I’m choosing to go after it.
I want my platform to be a reflection of the woman I’ve become. Someone who has experienced change, had to rebuild, continued to dream and learned that God can restore what you thought was lost. My story is a reminder that you can start over, reinvent yourself and still become everything you were created to be.
I truly believe that with God, all things are possible. This chapter is about trusting His plan, walking boldly into everything He has placed inside of me and reminding others that no matter what they’ve been through, their story isn’t over. God can restore, refine and do exceedingly more than we could ever imagine.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. It has been everything but a smooth road.
One of the biggest struggles has been learning how to navigate customer service, help people, manage multiple responsibilities and still figure out how to make a profit. There were nights I couldn’t sleep because I was worried that something might go wrong with the people I was trying to help. And that pressure wasn’t limited to one area of my life. I experienced it personally, professionally and in business.
I’ve faced financial difficulties by stepping into businesses without having all the experience or knowledge I needed and found myself trying to figure things out as I went. There were moments when I was responding to multiple people at once, with notifications constantly popping up on my phone and everyone needing an answer. I remember washing cars, dropping them off and not even knowing how I was going to get back home. There were definitely moments when I just wanted to throw my phone and scream.
At the time, I was determined to prove to myself that I could do everything on my own. I was so focused on making sure I would never struggle or have to depend on anyone that I didn’t realize I was creating another kind of struggle by trying to carry everything myself.
What I’m learning now is that I was never meant to carry it all alone. As one person, I was putting too much on myself. Surrendering those burdens to God has changed my perspective. I’ve learned to release some of the responsibilities I was holding onto, trust Him more and have faith that everything will come together in His timing.
The road hasn’t been easy but I’m grateful for the lessons. Some of the hardest seasons have taught me the most about faith and humility. Knowing when to let go and let God lead.
As you know, we’re big fans of Opulent Living. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business journey has evolved over the years, but at the heart of everything I do is creating opportunities, providing valuable experiences and helping people navigate important transitions in life.
As a licensed Real Estate Agent, I specialize in helping clients find homes that fit their lifestyle and goals, with a particular focus on new construction, luxury properties, corporate housing and rental opportunities. Through my real estate and corporate housing ventures, I’ve also been able to help professionals and families find comfortable, quality housing that meets their unique needs.
What sets me apart is that I don’t see real estate as simply buying, selling or finding a place to live. I’m passionate about building relationships, educating my clients and creating solutions that go beyond the transaction. I’ve also experienced entrepreneurship from many different angles, including short-term rentals and the automotive rental space, so I understand what it’s like to build something from the ground up.
What I’m most proud of is that my brand continues to evolve with me. I’m not afraid to explore new opportunities, learn something new or step into unfamiliar territory. My brand represents ambition, faith, lifestyle and growth, and I want people to see that you can build a successful business while still being authentic to who you are.
Ultimately, I want readers to know that what I offer goes beyond a service. I want every person who connects with my brand to feel that they are working with someone who genuinely cares, brings value and is committed to helping them reach their next level.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I love networking! One of the things that has been most valuable to me is simply putting myself in the room. I regularly attend real estate events, business mixers and professional gatherings. Instead of waiting for people to approach me, I make it a point to walk around the room, introduce myself and genuinely get to know other business owners and professionals.
Networking has been vital to my career and has opened so many opportunities for me to learn and grow. I’ve learned that you never know who you’re going to meet or where one conversation can lead.
When it comes to finding a mentor, my advice is to first be willing to connect and learn. Build genuine relationships, be curious and pay attention to people who are doing things you admire. Sometimes mentorship develops naturally from a strong connection.
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. You have to be willing to introduce yourself, ask questions and let people know what you’re working toward. Sometimes the opportunity you’ve been praying for is on the other side of simply showing up.
