Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Clarabut.
Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had the opportunity to take over the already existing Cafe Marrese in May of 2022 and was very excited by the opportunity presented! I had been in the financial world for 10 years prior to this and after a major health scare, I knew that it was time for a change in my life. Food has always been my passion and building something wonderful for my community, being a close second, I knew this was perfect for me.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been the smoothest for me. Coming into an existing business and trying to turn it around is always hard and I’ve faced a lot of backlash from loyal customers of previous owners who have lashed out simply because of who I am. The struggles have all been worth it though when I see the amazing customer base, I’m able to build who truly love our cafe, our food, our passion and our love for our community.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cafe Marrese?
Cafe Marrese will be undergoing a complete branding change in 2023 and will have a new name and some great new additions to an evening menu and hope to become a great date night spot for the Tomball/Spring/Cypress area! Not only do we specialize in delicious locally sourced food and coffee, but we also have a great private space that we rent out for dinners, parties, business meetings, etc. I am so proud of everything that we have come up with and accomplished within our cafe. My team is amazing and I know that with them by my side we will go far.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Full disclosure my passion outside of food is true crime podcasts, which I love. But I do find that just using my creative side is something that I love so much. I’m fortunate to be able to be in the kitchen and bake breads for us as well as muffins and other things.
