I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
When I went back to law school here in the U.S. I was a young mother of a baby and a toddler and I had been in the U.S. as an immigrant for just a few years. Naturally, I had to juggle school time with childcare without any help from my extended family since all of them are in Brazil. It was my husband and I against the world. After becoming a lawyer, I had to also prove to my peers that I was as capable as them even though I was an immigrant. However, now looking back to the beginning of my career, all struggles I had to experience were essential for my professional and personal growth.
