Today we’d like to introduce you to Carly Filbin.
Hi Carly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My business partner Stephanie Jones and I started Blue Jay Interiors in January 2021. We are a full-service Interior Design Studio serving North and Central Houston. We hired a second Senior Designer in May of last year! Jenni Warsitz has been a welcomed part of our team since!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We wanted to create a business where we and our employees are happy to come to work! We love interior design and hire people that feel the same. Of course, there are always obstacles to starting a business, but we have been very fortunate over the past 2 years. Currently, we are finishing interior construction on our new Design Studio. We are currently accepting new clients, and our studio is open by appointment only.

We are fun and approachable when it comes to Interiors. This is your home or space, and we want to walk alongside of you, providing whatever services you may need. We offer full-service interior design for new construction and remodels. We also specialize in custom furniture, draperies, rugs, and accessories. We also offer hourly design consultation for smaller projects or those who just need guidance. We are proud dealers of Hunter Douglas window coverings, offering a wide array of window covering options.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
We learned that our homes are much more than that. For each family, the home varies and could serve as an office or school by day and a respite by night. We love designing multi-functional spaces for the families who need them most.
