Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. George Perez Jr., D.C..

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up right here in Alvin, Texas, where I spent most of my time playing sports—especially baseball. That’s actually where my interest in chiropractic first started. I saw firsthand how injuries and recovery played such a big role in performance, and I was fascinated by how chiropractic care could help people move and feel better without relying on medications.

After high school, I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas State University, then decided to shadow a few great chiropractors. That experience really opened my eyes to how much chiropractic care could help people beyond just back pain—it’s about improving overall function and quality of life. From there, I attended Texas Chiropractic College and knew early on that I wanted to run my own practice one day.

Right after graduation, I went for it and opened Flex Chiropractic here in Pearland, TX. My approach is evidence-based and very individualized—I take the time to tailor care for each patient’s specific needs. I incorporate things like dry needling, spinal decompression, shockwave therapy, soft tissue work, cupping, and personalized mobility and strengthening exercises to help prevent problems from coming back.

I don’t consider myself a traditional chiropractor—I don’t want my patients coming in multiple times every week for the rest of their lives. My goal is to help you heal, guide you toward taking care of your own body, and keep you doing the activities you love for as long as possible. Honestly, the less you have to see me, the better. That’s the mindset Flex Chiropractic is built on.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a completely smooth road—there are always challenges when you’re starting a new small business, especially right out of school. I had zero business background at the time, so there was a big learning curve figuring out everything from marketing to operations while also focusing on patient care. It can be a lot to juggle at first.

Luckily, I’ve had some incredible mentors along the way who’ve always been willing to lend a hand and share their experience. Having that support system has made a huge difference and really helped me grow not just as a chiropractor, but as a business owner. Every challenge has been a lesson, and looking back, I’m grateful for all of it—it’s what helped shape Flex Chiropractic into what it is today.

We’ve been impressed with Flex Chiropractic , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Flex Chiropractic, we really pride ourselves on providing quality over quantity care. We’re not interested in rushing people in and out or having them come in week after week forever — we want to actually help people get better and stay that way. One of our favorite things to hear from patients is, “I’ve never had a chiropractor do all of this,” or “I didn’t know you could help with that.” That kind of feedback reminds me why I started this practice in the first place.

What really sets us apart is how personalized and educational our approach is. Every patient is different, and we take the time to understand their specific needs, lifestyle, and goals before building a plan around that. We also love taking the time to educate people about their health — seeing that light bulb go off when someone finally understands why their aches and pains are happening is one of our favorite parts of the job.

We’re also a cash-based practice, which gives us the freedom to focus 100% on what patients truly need — not what insurance dictates. It keeps care transparent, flexible, and completely patient-centered — and people really appreciate that difference.

Our slogan, “Flex Your Potential,” says it all. It’s not just a tagline — it’s a mindset. We want every patient to move better, feel stronger, and live life without limits. Our mission is to help people unlock their potential, stay active, and keep doing what they love for as long as possible.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me most is helping people to the absolute best of our ability — no matter what. We truly care about every person who walks through our doors. Even if we can’t help directly, we’ll always do everything we can to point them in the right direction. Educating people about their health and helping them understand what’s really going on with their body is something we value just as much as the treatment itself.
