Exploring Life & Business with Ed Lewis of Industrial Info Resources

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ed Lewis.

Hi Ed, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 1983, I founded Industrial Info Resources (IIR) at a time when both the economy and my personal life were experiencing some turmoil. I’d recently lost my job in the construction industry, and I had a family at home to support. After some time of not having much luck in my job search, I began reaching out to my former clients. I asked them about their businesses and what pain points they were encountering. Almost unanimously, the answer was consistent: they needed accurate, timely information about real projects. What started as a five-person team built around solving that problem has grown into a global organization of more than 500 people, focused entirely on delivering verified, asset-level industrial intelligence.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road was far from smooth. Industrial Info Resources was born during a recession that devastated construction and energy markets, and early on, credibility was the biggest hurdle. Building trust required relentless verification, direct engagement with plant operators and engineers, and a refusal to rely on secondhand or speculative data, even when easier paths existed.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Industrial Info Resources?
Industrial Info Resources specializes in surveillance-grade industrial market intelligence across energy, power, oil and gas, chemicals, manufacturing, data centers, mining, and infrastructure. What sets us apart is our exclusive focus on real-world, asset-level data that is double-verified directly at the source, rather than coming from surveys or forecasts. Today, I’m most proud that IIR has built a reputation for trusted data that global financial institutions and industrial leaders rely on to make multibillion-dollar capital decisions with confidence.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
We are always looking to work and engage with leading-edge technologies.
