Hi Emily, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Babies Bakery originally started as “Momma E’s Sweets” in my college dorm room at Texas A&M. Upon graduating, I searched for a way to put my degree & baking hobby together. Pairing the two made for the most perfect business plan – sweets & pregnancy! What expecting mother can resist a bakery filled with mouthwatering treats – very few if you ask me! With three ultrasound packages, our moms can select their package based off of their gestational stage & watch their little babes growing through ultrasounds. Throughout the three years we have been in business, Babies Bakery has expanded an additional 2,500sf into a full children’s and women’s boutique. Our boutique carries maternity, women’s, men’s, children’s newborn to 6T.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Babies Bakery originally opened in February of 2020, which means COVID! We, unfortunately, had to close our storefront for a little over a month… Upon opening our storefront again, we had to take extreme precaution in everything we did. Covid cleaning sprays, spacing patients out to give proper time in-between sessions & hundreds of masks! One thing that we continued was allowing families and spouses to join in, which at the time, many hospitals & facilities discontinued. Many of our families praised us and religiously thanked us for allowing this experience to remain a family experience.

Babies Bakery is a one-stop shop. We offer elective ultrasounds for expecting mothers from 9 weeks all the way until delivery. We offer gender-determination blood work for expecting mothers starting at 6 weeks. Our bakery is stocked with mouthwatering cake balls every day of the week. Upon request, we also offer customized cakes, decorative cookies, etc. for all the special occasions. Our boutique is stocked with new products weekly. We carry newborn, children’s up to 6T, women, maternity, and a small selection for the men in our lives!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learned along my journey is to not stress. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Things are always going to work themselves out. Keeping positive is key.
