Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
A son of immigrants I’m 42 years of age.
Started cutting hair at 13 in my parents washroom.
Went to prison at 26
Came to know God and the plans He had for my life based on my talents and gift He had been given me! Made me open my eyes.
Got my Cosmetology license at 30
And opened my 1st Barbershop/Salon in Madisonville in 2013, Versatile Hair Studio. (Now has 10 barbers, stylists, nail tech and lash tech)
2023 Opened Versatile Barber and Beauty Academyin Huntsville, Tx (1st Barbershop School in its History) Ae keep 20-25 students at a time.
And in 2025 we Opened our 2nd Barbershop Versatile Hair Studio 2 In Huntsville Tx (8 barbershop)
Couldn’t do that withOut my Wife Brittney and God Leading the way.
I have 4 kids
(3 daughters, 1 Son)
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a rollercoaster up until about this last year when we got it figured out on the business side.
What make it’s easier is Knowing by learning In The past that it can’t rain forever. Keep showing up keep grinding and doing what your suppose to do and success is inevitable. Persistence beats resistance everytime!
Anytime it got slow or tough I remembered this is what I dreamed of it’s just part of it and I’m not going back to my old job.

People come to a small business not just because it’s a great environment but due to knowing the owners and what type of people they are personally and the relationship they establish with their customers, that’s where we have an advantage. We make sure every visit is personable and satisfying.
No matter if it’s a service by our students at our academy or at one of our shops, the service will be top notch, in a clean environment making each person feel included In Their personal service.
