Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Clark.
Hi Jada, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I earned my cosmetology license in high school and later studied fashion in college with the goal of becoming a stylist. After graduating, I moved to New York City, where I interned in the fashion industry—working backstage at fashion shows, red carpets, and photo shoots, assisting with wardrobe for models, actors, and talent.
While in New York, I found my way back to hair and eventually managed a salon until the pandemic. During that time, I had a moment of reflection and my walk with god that led me back home to Texas.
I returned to hairstyling with a renewed passion—this time focusing on hair extensions and bridal beauty. Joining a Houston-based team allowed me to refine my bridal hair and makeup skills, ultimately shaping the artist and professional I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not—my journey has been anything but smooth. I never imagined myself in this position, and a series of unexpected challenges pushed me to where I am today. After opening my business , things were steady until a major setback nearly caused me to lose everything, including my car. I did whatever it took to keep my doors open—from filing for bankruptcy to donating blood and even doing DoorDash.
Out of that hardship came a blessing in disguise. I created my cosmetic line to help support my business during slower seasons and began developing a hair extension line to offer my clients more value and increase studio revenue.
I’m grateful for the difficult moments because they shaped the entrepreneur I am now. Success means nothing without failure. You have to fail to grow, to learn, and to elevate. My story is far from a Cinderella tale—none of it has been easy—but it has been incredibly rewarding.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Hue Nude LLC . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Hue Nude represents the idea that “nude” is not one shade—it’s every shade. I wanted to build a brand where everyone feels welcome, regardless of skin tone or hair texture. The name reflects inclusivity and the belief that beauty comes in all hues.
I specialize in bridal hair, makeup, and hair extensions, and our sister brands—The Hue Nude Cosmetics and Extended Nudes—expand on that mission. My cosmetic line focuses on color palettes that truly complement diverse skin tones. What began with a single lip gloss has now grown into blushes and body elixirs.
Our hair extension line celebrates a range of textures and color blends, allowing clients to find products that match and enhance their natural hair. Together, it all ties back to serving every shade, every texture, and every bride.
What matters most to you? Why?
Equality matters deeply to me. I’m not a politician, and I can’t change the whole world—but through my work, I can create a space where everyone feels seen. My chair is a place where every person, regardless of who they are, is welcomed and valued. It may not be a big step on a global scale, but it’s meaningful. When someone sits in my chair and feels represented, appreciated, and understood, it reminds me that I’m contributing something positive to the world.
