Today we’d like to introduce you to Jancy Carlson.
Hi Jancy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into esthetics and wellness began long before I ever stepped into a treatment room. For many years, I worked in advocacy and legal support roles alongside trauma survivors and individuals navigating some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives. That work profoundly shaped me. It taught me the importance of compassion, emotional safety, human connection, and the ways stress and trauma can affect not only the mind emotionally, but the body physically as well.
At the same time, I had always been deeply drawn to skincare, wellness, healing touch, and helping people feel confident in themselves. Over time, I realized my passion was never solely about beauty. It was about how people feel when they look in the mirror, how stress and tension are carried within the body, and how powerful it can be when someone finally feels seen, cared for, and able to truly relax.
People often ask how I transitioned from advocacy work and personal injury law firms into esthetics and massage therapy, but to me, the connection has always made perfect sense. In both careers, I was helping people heal. One was through emotional support, guidance, and helping individuals navigate pain and hardship. The other became helping people through therapeutic touch, corrective skincare, relaxation, and creating an environment where they feel safe enough to finally exhale.
That realization ultimately led me into esthetics and massage therapy, where I discovered a passion for combining results-driven skincare with nervous system focused treatments and advanced facial massage techniques. Today, I specialize in corrective facials paired with buccal massage, lymphatic drainage, sculpting facial massage, TMJ tension relief, and restorative treatments designed to help clients not only improve their skin, but also release stress and tension held within the face, jaw, neck, and body.
My work is deeply rooted in the belief that skincare and wellness are connected. I’ve seen firsthand how chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion can manifest physically in the skin and body. Because of that, I wanted to create a space that feels different from the traditional rushed spa experience. Skin Luxe Therapies was built to be a calming, personalized environment where clients feel emotionally safe, supported, and genuinely cared for while still receiving luxury, results-driven treatments.
One of the things I’m most passionate about is helping clients reconnect with themselves and start loving the person they see staring back at them in the mirror again. Sometimes that transformation comes through healthier skin, visible lifting and sculpting results, or relief from chronic facial tension. Other times, it comes through emotional release, confidence, relaxation, or simply having a quiet space where they don’t have to carry the weight of the world for an hour.
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has not been a perfectly smooth road. There have been seasons filled with uncertainty, reinvention, self-doubt, and learning to trust myself enough to fully step into the vision I had for my business and my life. But through every challenge, one thing remained constant: my desire to help people feel better emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Today, Skin Luxe Therapies continues to evolve as a luxury facial and wellness brand rooted in connection, compassion, education, and authentic client care. My tagline, “Relaxation Meets Results,” truly reflects the heart behind everything I do because I believe clients deserve both visible skin results and a space where they can mentally, physically, and emotionally restore themselves.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges along the way has honestly been the uncertainty, self-doubt, and constant reinvention of myself and my purpose. Like many people building something from the ground up, there were moments where I questioned whether I was capable, whether I was taking the right path, or whether I was starting over too many times. But through every season of life, one thing always remained consistent: I’ve always been deeply drawn to helping, guiding, and motivating others, especially through difficult moments.
People often ask me how I went from advocacy work and personal injury law firms into esthetics and massage therapy, and honestly, to me, the connection feels very natural. In both roles, I’m helping people heal. One was through emotional support, advocacy, and helping individuals navigate pain and trauma. The other became helping people through touch, skincare, wellness, and creating a space where they can finally exhale.
Working alongside trauma survivors taught me the importance of compassion, human connection, and creating environments where people feel emotionally safe without fear of judgment. That understanding naturally carried over into my work in esthetics and wellness. For me, treatments are never just about skincare. They’re about helping clients reconnect with themselves and begin loving the person they see staring back at them in the mirror again.
Sometimes that transformation comes through healthier skin, visible sculpting results, or releasing years of tension held in the jaw, face, neck, and body. Other times, it simply means giving someone a quiet, safe space where they can breathe, release emotions, talk openly, or leave feeling lighter than when they arrived. I truly believe stress, emotions, and life experiences show up physically in our bodies and skin, which is why my work focuses not only on visible results, but restoration as a whole.
I think one of the most personal challenges has been learning to trust myself enough to fully step into that vision instead of trying to fit into what I thought the industry expected me to be. Over time, I realized my ability to connect with people, anticipate their needs, and help them feel genuinely safe and cared for is actually one of my greatest strengths, both personally and professionally.
Building Skin Luxe Therapies has required resilience, growth, and a willingness to evolve, but every obstacle has helped shape a business that feels authentic to who I truly am and the kind of experience I want clients to have the moment they walk through my door.
We’ve been impressed with Skin Luxe Therapies, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Skin Luxe Therapies is a luxury facial and wellness studio focused on creating results-driven treatments that nurture both the skin and the nervous system. While many clients initially come to me for concerns such as aging, acne, dehydration, sensitivity, inflammation, or facial tension, what they often discover is that the experience becomes much deeper than skincare alone. My goal is for every client to leave not only looking refreshed, but feeling emotionally lighter, restored, and more connected to themselves.
I specialize in advanced facial massage techniques including buccal massage, lymphatic drainage, sculpting facial massage, TMJ tension relief, and corrective yet deeply relaxing facial treatments that combine luxury with visible skin results. My treatments are intentionally designed to support circulation, reduce inflammation and puffiness, release tension patterns held in the face and jaw, and calm the nervous system while still delivering corrective skincare benefits. I also work with oncology-supportive skincare and clients navigating stress, burnout, hormonal changes, and life transitions that often manifest physically in the skin and body.
What truly sets Skin Luxe Therapies apart is the experience itself. My background in advocacy and working alongside trauma survivors deeply shaped how I approach client care. I understand how much stress, emotion, and exhaustion people silently carry, and I believe healing can happen in small but meaningful ways through human connection, intentional care, safe touch, and simply being seen without judgment. Because of that, I’ve created an environment that feels calm, personalized, quiet, and emotionally safe. Clients often tell me they feel like they can finally exhale the moment they walk through the door.
I think people also connect with the fact that my approach is highly intuitive and individualized. I don’t believe skincare should feel intimidating, overly clinical, or centered around perfection. I educate my clients in a realistic and supportive way while helping them understand that healthy skin is deeply connected to overall wellness, stress levels, lifestyle, and self-care habits. I want clients to leave feeling empowered rather than criticized.
Brand wise, I’m most proud that Skin Luxe Therapies has remained authentic to who I am and the experience I want to create. In an industry that can sometimes prioritize trends over connection, I’ve worked hard to build something rooted in trust, compassion, education, and meaningful client relationships. The tagline for Skin Luxe Therapies is “Relaxation Meets Results,” and that truly reflects the heart behind everything I do because I believe clients deserve both effective skincare and a space where they can mentally and physically restore themselves.
I also take pride in continuously advancing my education and techniques so I can provide high-level treatments while still maintaining a warm, welcoming, and personalized atmosphere. My passion is helping clients begin to love the person they see staring back at them in the mirror again. Sometimes that transformation comes through healthier skin, visible lifting and sculpting results, or relief from chronic facial tension. Other times, it comes through confidence, emotional release, relaxation, or simply having a place where they feel genuinely cared for.
More than anything, I want readers to know that Skin Luxe Therapies is not just about facials. It’s about creating an experience where people feel safe, restored, confident, and supported while receiving luxury skincare treatments that truly honor both beauty and overall well-being.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that may surprise people is that while my work today centers around skincare, wellness, and relaxation, a large part of what shaped me professionally came from working in advocacy and legal support roles helping trauma survivors through incredibly difficult moments in their lives. Most people see the calming treatment room, luxury facials, and facial massage work now, but they don’t always realize how much life experience, emotional understanding, and human connection helped shape the environment and energy behind my brand.
Another thing people may not realize is how intuitive and emotionally connected I am to my work. I pay close attention not only to someone’s skin, but also to their energy, stress levels, body language, and the tension they may be carrying physically in their face and body. Over time, I’ve learned that skincare treatments can become so much more than a beauty service. They can become a space where people finally allow themselves to slow down, breathe, release emotion, and simply be cared for without expectations or judgment.
I think people are also often surprised by how much stress and facial tension can impact both the skin and overall well-being. My passion for advanced facial massage, buccal massage, lymphatic drainage, and nervous system-focused treatments comes from seeing firsthand how powerful touch, relaxation, and intentional care can be. There have been moments where clients have become emotional during treatments simply because it was the first time in a long time they truly felt relaxed, safe, and supported.
On a more personal level, many people probably wouldn’t guess how much self-reinvention has been part of my own journey. Building Skin Luxe Therapies required me to trust myself, evolve, and step into an entirely different career path while still honoring the core of who I’ve always been, which is someone who genuinely wants to help people heal, feel confident, and reconnect with themselves.
