Jasson, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I knew that I was going to be a business owner since I was a child. Only problem, I wasn’t too sure what I would be doing. My father owned a construction company. My mother owned a cleaning business. Owning my own business was always part of my plan. Through trial, error, and life’s circumstances I learned many trades, skills and obtained knowledge that eventually led me to joining it all together to create Motiv Remodeling & Pools. Motiv is a residential design & construction company. We specialize not only in interior remodeling but are more specifically known for our luxurious backyard designs and build outs including custom swimming pools, patio covers, outdoor kitchens etc. Motiv was created simply to serve others. First, our customers. We highly value our customers and always strive to deliver a seamless and enjoyable customer experience. But my mission extends far beyond any individual project. I aim to create sustainable employment opportunities for local talents and tradespeople, providing them with stable careers and a chance to flourish. I grew up witnessing and being a part of a community of people with the biggest desires to work and excel but with no resources available to do so. Our Motive, here at Motiv, is to be that change that our community needs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every part of this journey has brought its own set of mountains to overcome. In the very beginning, one of the most challenging things was being able to gain the trust of a potential client . Being new to the business always raises concerns for home owners, understandably.
Thankfully, I was blessed time and time again with the opportunity to be able to get these projects because of the trust I was able to build. All it took was a few people that believed in me the same way I believed in myself. Once we got this momentum going this side of the business did get easier. We made plenty of content with each project, made sure to deliver the best customer experience we could and most importantly made sure to deliver the best quality outcome in the end.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in “Luck”. Either God allowed it to happen or stops it from happening if it is not part of his will. In my business & personal life, I rely on Faith. Faith is having trust with confidence in the things not yet seen.
When I finally decided to leave my last employer and start this business, many saw what I was doing as a risk. What if you can’t make ends meet? What if you can’t make any sales? What if this business doesn’t work out?
Well, what if it does? I had faith in what was in store for my future. I never once thought “maybe ill get lucky”.
There’s a humble confidence that comes with walking in faith when you know you are being called to something. Your trust is not in what YOU can do, but in what GOD can do through you.
( Matthew 17:20 ) “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
