Today we’d like to introduce you to John Suarez.
Hi John, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I can remember wanting to be an attorney since I was a child. I lost my path for a bit and finally decided to go back to school in my late 20s. I then began law school in my early 30s. That all came to a standstill after my first year of law school. The summer after my first year, I got seriously ill. I had a cyst on my pancreas and all of my organs began to shut down. I was on life support and hospitalized for around 2 months. After that incident, I still went back to law school but became sick again and had to drop out. After a year and a half, I decided to go back and finally finished getting my law degree. Shortly after, I took the February bar and passed. Now I own my own firm and loving life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As the previous section stated, it has not been a smooth road. I am not your typical student and did not have a typical law school experience with my sickness. It’s been a rough road but so worth it in the end. I can only imagine what the future holds for me.
We’ve been impressed with The John Suarez Law Group, PLLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My firm deals predominantly with family law matters. We also deal in life estate documents, guardianships, and personal injury. We are blessed to be as busy as we are. We are hoping to add employment law to our list of specialties by the summer.
We are not your typical law firm. We truly care about our clients and the results and the experience they have during their difficult with their legal matter. Nobody wants to go through the legal process. It is never fun for anyone. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and painless as possible for our clients.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Believe it or not, covid was great for the legal field. It allowed us to go virtual/zoom for court proceedings. We didn’t have to drive an hour and charge our clients unnecessary monies for a 10-minute hearing. We could stay at home and do the hearing.
It has also allowed mediations to stay virtual, which is great for mediators, clients, and attorneys. We can all stay at our office or home and get the job done the same way we would if we were in person.
