Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan and Andrea Haskin.
Hi Jonathan and Andrea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We started Buy Local Farmers Market to bring weekly farm-fresh produce, pasture-raised chicken and eggs, grass-fed beef, wild-caught seafood, and specialty foods to our backyard. The community responded with support each week and the team lineup grew. Our local small business allows fresh food to be provided in an open-air environment, which has been a sustainable way to continue serving the community. Currently, we have expanded to three weekly markets. Fall Creek & Eagle Springs Farmers’ Market, and The Groves Marketplace.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We assume the responsibility of providing a safe environment and the freshest, high-quality products. Open-air shopping combined with teammates that take care of growing our foods and following the guidelines of our local health policies are always our focus, to endure during difficult times. We have gained experience and have an amazing relationship with our county health department and fire Marshall’s Office. This is our standard; this is how we persevere.

We are a weekly local farmers’ market. We perform site visits on all vendors as part of the application process. Our markets are registered with the County and all vendors are licensed and permitted to sell their products. Our markets offer grocery staples, organic skincare and specialty foods.
How do you define success?
We measure our success in relationship building with our teammates, neighbors and community. Sharing information to continue growing our markets are our goals. We are here to provide a quality atmosphere and foods that increase our wellness and life.
