Exploring Life & Business with Kattya Distefano of Kattya & Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kattya Distefano.

Hi Kattya , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Kattya. I was born in Mexico City and immigrated to the United States when I was five years old. My parents are my heroes, their courage and determination in building a new life shaped who I am today and taught me resilience from a very young age.

I grew up in Katy, Texas, and later pursued a degree in Graphic Design with a focus on product branding. After graduating, I struggled to find a job in my field and took a position as a promotional model at the Offshore Technology Conference. That experience unexpectedly opened the door to a career in sales and marketing within the energy sector.

From there, my path led me into supply chain and logistics, where I worked with heavy-haul trucking companies and later in international logistics, managing large-scale global projects with DHL. Along the way, I felt a strong calling that God had bigger plans for me. Plans that combined my creativity, business acumen, and passion for people.
That calling inspired me to launch my own boutique marketing and corporate events company. Today, my business is a reflection of every chapter of my journey. My strength lies in building brands and helping them shine through experiential marketing that creates meaningful, memorable connections.

Outside of work, I love volunteering for animal rights causes, traveling, taking a great spin class, and staying actively involved in my community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been easy. I had to start working at a young age, by 15, my mother was struggling to pay the bills, and I learned the value of hard work early on. Along the way, I also faced discrimination in the workplace for being a latin woman, experiences that ultimately made me stronger and more determined. Those challenges taught me not only how to persevere, but also how to set boundaries and learn that saying “no” is just as important as saying “yes.”

We’ve been impressed with Kattya & Co. , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
