Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelli Redd.
Hi Kelli, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Kelli Redd, Licensed Professional Counselor. Born and raised in Houston! I’m a mom to three young kids and have always worked with children and families. I started my career as a foster home developer and adoption supervisor. I then became a teacher in Pasadena, and then a school counselor in Hardin, Texas. Now I have the privilege of being a counselor for everyone from ages 3 to 93! God has blessed me with the experience and knowledge of what works to help families and their children lead fulfilling lives.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Challenges bring character and have made me who I am today. My own experiences with domestic violence as a child, blended families and being the oldest of five girls, has provided a deep empathy I share with my clients. The challenge of being an educator and working mother have also proven to be helpful in understanding the needs of others and how to best help them set appropriate boundaries and seek out healthy coping strategies. I am who I am today through God’s grace who brought me my loving husband David.
We’ve been impressed with Eagle Insight Counseling , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When you search for child therapy, my practice will often pop up as a trusted local expert. Children and teens love that we offer expression through toys, sand tray, art, and games. We are in person on the southeast side near Mont Belvieu, as well as available virtually across Texas. We have added Anna Flores, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, to the team! She is a former police officer and mother. Anna offers Saturday appointments and also evenings. I am proud that our office is on a 2 acre property with chickens and a garden so that you walk into a relaxing atmosphere upon arrival.
What’s next?
We’re looking forward to continuing to serve children and their families as well, as adding in the specialty of first responder trauma informed counseling. Many officers, nurses, EMS workers, and firefighters need a confidential place to heal and seek strategies for resilience. Eagle Insight Counseling will be a part of the solution for our local heroes.
