Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirstin Brenders.
Hi Kirstin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Honestly? I tiptoed into entrepreneurship while I was looking for a new job, one that could actually fit my life, my interests, and motherhood.
I’d spent years building my career. Then, within a year, I became a mom, my work restructured my role, and I could not shake the feeling of burnout and feeling unfulfilled. The success I built no longer felt aligned with me. Something had to change. So I made a plan, set money aside, and I took what I now call my power pause.
During that time, I slowed down and got curious about what work and motherhood truly meant for me. I enjoyed the flexibility and the opportunity to be more involved with my son’s school and our community. I began listening to different kinds of podcasts and seeing more women leading businesses while raising their kids. I started exploring my own business idea, testing it to see how it works around my family’s needs, and then launched it months later.
The collaborations and opportunities that came my way exceeded my initial expectations. Although I didn’t intend to guide other women and mothers through their transitions, it was a true honor when they sought my guidance. These experiences, combined with my time working with my own coach, inspired me to pursue a coaching certification in personal and professional development.
Now, I partner with women who are ready to make themselves a priority and claim the fulfillment, excitement, and purpose that’s been waiting for them.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was far from smooth, and I think that’s worth being honest about.
When you’re climbing a corporate ladder, it’s easy to lose sight of yourself. And then motherhood arrives with its own set of changes, expectations, and pressures. As working parents, we rarely stop to check in with ourselves. To ask who we are now. Who we want to be. How much we’ve changed and how different we might look five years from now.
For me, the bumpy part was spinning in the space of “I do not hate my career, but I know it doesn’t fit anymore.” It was evolving my identity without making me feel like I was abandoning anything, and it was helping me learn to trust my own decisions and gut without guilt. Those were some of the biggest shifts I had to make.
That’s true for a lot of the women I work with, too.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about KB&Co?
My coaching business exists for the woman who wants her work to better support her life, not compete with it.
As a Mindset Coach, I specialize in helping women get clear on what’s actually shifting within them so they can build what’s next with intention, not just reaction. That means getting clear on roles that drain them, honing in on their strengths, not just their skillset, and setting new goals. It means exploring possibilities without pressure. And it means doing that work before making big decisions, because you can’t build a fulfilling next chapter from survival mode.
What I want to be known for is helping women live and work by design and make intentional, values-driven decisions about their careers, time, and lives. For a long time, I chased what looked impressive. Busy felt like success. When I finally found work that felt sustainable, I was relieved. I showed up with more patience as a mom and a wife. That’s the shift I help women make, and it changes everything.
What sets me apart is simple. I’ve lived this. I was the one searching for answers when I outgrew my goals, trying to figure out what was next without a clear path forward. Now I get to create that space for other women and give them the structure and perspective I wish I’d had sooner.
What’s next?
I have several things in the works. I am preparing to host masterclasses and speak at events centered on helping women redefine what success means to them. I’m actively seeking more ways to reach women who want to feel calm and confident about their next chapter and to create a life that reflects who they are now.
Beyond events, I’m looking forward to collaborating with more women in the Houston area and beyond. Whether in person or virtually, I’m here to support others in designing their work and lives. I’d love to be that outside perspective.
I know it all starts with the smallest action, like booking one conversation. I invite those curious about coaching to book a free discovery call, and let’s talk. And for those who want to stay connected and be included in the upcoming masterclasses and events, I invite them to sign up for my newsletter. They can visit my website and sign up. Thank you again for the opportunity to share my story and connect with others in our community.
