Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Shanell.
Hi Krystal, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
My journey has truly been one of purpose. I came to Houston by way of Louisiana in 2014. I moved due to a job transfer which ended shortly after coming here due to a decline in the outfield industry. After taking supplemental employment I began using my administrative and accounting skills to start a side hustle in 2016. During that time I started a nonprofit for single parents as I myself am a single parent of 5.
During that time I sharpened my skills, enhanced my experience and begin grant writing. I quickly grew clientele in the nonprofit area assisting startup, Development, and funding. I then increased my target by adding entrepreneur services. During Harvey, I partnered with rapper Trae Tha Truth to bring change to the community following devastation and we have been working together ever since. In addition to my companies, I now manage all of his for profit and nonprofit endeavors.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh no indeed. It had not been smooth. I lost so much. From over 4 sets of layoffs, to personal medical issues, to being in a city with no family it has been tough. I also have a son who is hearing impaired and another with heart issues. Raising 5 kids alone is tough enough but to then have kids who have disabilities is even worse. I have been through it and struggled financially, but with God guiding me and hard work I have prevailed.

Heavenly Service, LLC is a writing and consulting firm that provides individualized solutions and tools for its clients. The company targets nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, and job seekers. We cultivate growing leaders with the intention of supporting entities and the individuals who build them. We offer coaching, 501c3 prep, and Business Structure Prep.
Coach Krystal Shanell Enterprises offers leadership training, legal mediation, and speaking. Through this company we provide enhanced development for individuals and leaders nationwide.
Perfect Processes Inc. is our company that manages our Liberty Tax Franchise. Our office in Bellaire and we are the small business specialty office. We provide individual tax preparation, small business tax preparation, payroll, bookkeeping, notary services, and mortgage loan origination.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is spending weekends with my grandmother. She was my best friend and I loved Friday evenings to get to hang with her.
