Exploring Life & Business with Lee White of D-Leecious Bites

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee White.

Hi Lee, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Chef Lee White is Executive Chef and Owner of D-Leecious Bites.

Since 2012, Chef Lee has been able to establish himself with top echelon of Chefs in Houston and surrounding communities by letting his talent bring his vision of “Fine Dining” into the homes of thousands over the years. What sets Chef Lee apart from the competition is his ability to be extremely diverse in producing menus, unique to that of the client and one of a kind. Utilizing locally sourced ingredients, Chef Lee will attend local farmers markets, produce farms, butchers and will travel to different counties to ensure execution for his business. He was brought up at a young age in his family restaurant where he was taught and brought into true Tex-Mex cuisine, which lit his passion for the culinary arts. For almost 15 years now he has had the opportunity and experience with numerous top Chefs, where he was able to venture into the “Farm to Table” movement that his business was initially driven, and has since developed into an array of all cultures.

Chef Lee has since catered to NFL Athletes on their offseason in custom dietary needs, which in turn has been a success over into the Crossfit World in the surrounding communities. This dedication and his sincere abilities has led him onto the path of focusing on large events as well. Craft BBQ, fine dining, culture specific, or just elevated southern comfort food are just a touch of the surface of what Chef Lee and his D-Leecious Bites Team are capable of. Chef Lee is profound and experience savvy in wild game, beer and wine dinners. Elevated cooking classes over zoom, or in house options are also what his business can offer. If you are looking for a personal Fine Dining Restaurant Experience in your home for your next event, or looking for a special celebration, birthday, anniversary, and especially the holiday season this self taught chef will deliver an experience that will be talked about for years to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth ride…. Owning your own business is hard work and for me personally, the most gratifying decision I made in my career. I have been featured on many TV networks in the Houston Area over the years and worked with some amazing Chef’s which has help grow the business up to the Covid pandemic, which I lost everything. Battling through addiction, rebranding my business, staying dedicated, being humble, setting the bar even higher in the game for myself, which that just comes with the territory. I have to give a ton of credit to my amazing wife for all of her hard work in marketing the rebrand, booking events, building back our client base and just the backbone for D-Leecious Bites… Couldn’t do it without her

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about D-Leecious Bites?
We have a solid staff that can accommodate events that require bartenders, interior decorticating, DJ’s, Live Music, Photo Booths, Pastry Chefs, etc. No event is too small or too large for us as we have done large corporate events for 500 people and small intimate dinner for as small as a couple of 2.

We are proud to say that our brand “D-Leecious Bites” has been around for a decade this year in March, which is absolutely a great feeling. Each client that I have the honor of cooking for I treat as if I was cooking for my wife, mother or grandmother. When people see the name D-Leecious Bites and or our logo, they know the level of expectations and the experience they will be receiving. Over the years we have auctioned off dinners for Childhood Cancer Research for Saint Jude’s Hospital through the Sky High for Kids Foundation and we have also have done the same for the Llama and Alpaca Committee with Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

We are absolutely humbled to be able to experience this journey not only as a business that was built solely on faith, but as a family and being a part of something that has been able to touch so many lives over the years.
