Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Jaramillo.
Hi Liz, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a graduate of UOf H with a hospitality degree from the Hilton N Conrad collage. I’ve worked in hotels most of my life, (I worked in event sales) till I left hotels to work at a mattress firm but was still in the same industry (events) I was laid off from working at mattress firm in their events department after covid.
I’ve always been in the event industry.
I was kind of worried after being laid off I really didn’t know what I was going to do.. during the lay off I wondered off and did a few other things to generate some income, till I landed on what I know how to do best, event planning, but we’re right in the middle of the pandemic so I wasn’t sure how that was going to work out.
I planned a few weddings and a few other parties during the time, till after I took a balloon class and that’s when it all started.
My goal was to do event planning and add an extra service but I end up just doing balloon decor and I now have balloon workshops. I absolutely love it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road but I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have no regrets and I can’t see myself working for someone.
As you know, we’re big fans of Beautyloons. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in balloon decor and I also teach people my techniques on how to do balloon work. I am most proud of my workshops!
What sets me apart is that I don’t only teach techniques but instead is how to start your balloon business from zero.
We talk about license, LLC, building props, marketing, how to get your first paying job, etc. It’s not just a balloon workshop that teaches you how to do it, but instead, you would be starting your own business.
Students also have an opportunity to come with me on my installs (real jobs) so that they have real life experience, hands on with real clients!

I work with other vendors currently we’re they have my balloon service on their packages, etc.
