Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Ascension started way before the degrees or the certification for me. Ascension started simply as a child manifesting and speaking words of affirmations over my journey into adulthood. I always found myself giving advice, finding solutions, and striving to be the best version of myself, whether I was the market mascot for chickfila (yes, the cow) or now owning Ascension Lifestyle Consulting. People pass through purpose every day without realizing that it is the small moments that allow us to gauge the successes of the larger.
I have spent the last 11 years of my professional life creating and cultivating relationships on multiple levels, from working with small business owners, fortune 500 companies, and the government. I have seen firsthand that no matter if you are the CEO or the janitor, we are all individuals striving to do our best at the end of the day. Ascension Lifestyle Consulting was founded on the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to ascend to their highest potential. It is a foundational thought that we create our realities through our interactions, interpretations, and language.
Ascension runs as a creative collaboration between Business Manager Denise Upshaw and Lifestyle Consultant London Lawrence. The perfect blend of creativity, business savvy, and innovation. The name Ascension Lifestyle Consulting came from a think tank session between myself and my business manager, Denise. The whole concept was about finding a name that not only stood out but spoke directly to our beliefs and the services we wanted to offer our clients. We were randomly going through ideas and concepts when the Maxwell song Ascension came on, and I knew that was it. Ascension is defined as the act of rising or ascending. It is a feeling; it is a vibe, and it was pure freedom and joy to be complete.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When reflecting on the journey that led to the development of Ascension Lifestyle Consulting, I have to say that it hasn’t always been easy. However, it has been a transformative process that has allowed me to connect with purpose and passion. The sacrifice of time, resources, relationships, and sometimes sanity is often overlooked when we view success. In life, we go through to get through. This means taking the good with the bad and trusting ourselves enough to know that the dream only becomes a reality with hard work and dedication.
