Today, we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Le.

Michelle Le

Hi Michelle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into the world of baking began in September 2020, during the unprecedented times of the pandemic. As a self-taught baker, I started with a simple box of chocolate strawberries and pretzels, a humble beginning that was well-received by my neighbors. The word spread, and what started as a fun hobby soon blossomed into a passion.

I found joy in the process of creating, in the transformation of simple ingredients into something delightful and delicious. To my surprise, this passion evolved into a business I love and am proud of. Looking back, it’s been an incredible journey filled with learning, growth, and sweetness. It’s a testament that sometimes, the most unexpected paths lead us to the most beautiful destinations.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not! I can say my journey as a self-taught baker has been both rewarding and challenging. While I’ve experienced many successes, there were definitely hurdles to overcome. Being self-taught meant I had to learn everything from scratch.

Understanding the science behind baking, mastering different techniques, and troubleshooting failed recipes took time and effort. Baking is an art, and trial and error are part of the process. I’ve had my fair share of burnt cookies, collapsed cakes, and dough that refused to rise. Each failure taught me something valuable.

Balancing baking with other responsibilities was tough. Sometimes, I’d be up late at night perfecting a recipe or waking up early to bake before work. There were moments when I questioned my abilities. Imposter syndrome crept in, especially when comparing myself to professionally trained bakers.

Despite these challenges, I persevered because of my passion for baking. Each obstacle strengthened me, and the joy of creating something delicious kept me going.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Each cake is baked from scratch, ensuring the highest quality and freshness for our customers.

Our brand has become particularly known for our vintage cakes. These cakes, adorned with intricate piping details, are a testament to our commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail. They are currently our most popular offering.

What sets us apart is our dedication to the art of baking. We believe every cake tells a story, and we pour our hearts into creating cakes that make our customers’ special occasions even more memorable. Our cakes are more than just desserts; they are experiences that bring joy and create lasting memories.

What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I aspire to open a storefront and expand my baking into a larger space, reaching a wider audience.

My dream is to not just cater to my local customers but to travel and share my passion for baking with people worldwide. I believe that the future of the baking industry lies in its ability to adapt, innovate, and, above all, create products that bring joy and create lasting memories.
