Hi Nissi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The idea to start making candles popped into my head one day and I ran with it. I was a new mom, staying at home with my son and thought it could be a fun new hobby and if they turned out good maybe I could sell them to friends and family. I started watching any and every YouTube video I could find and reading any article I could about candle making. I decided to order some supplies and try it out. I made my first candle and I was obsessed. I fell in love with the science behind it all. I started to dream about what I wanted my business and brand to look like. I carefully designed my labels and handpicked the perfect scents. I knew I wanted something unique that you couldn’t find in stores and Jack Finley Candle Co. was born! I posted my first photo on social media and people were so excited.
A few weeks later, I launched my website and sold out in the first 24 hours. I have been in business for a year now and my company has grown so quickly and I am so grateful for all the love and support everyone has shown me so far. My candles are now being burned in hundreds, possibly even thousands of people’s homes. I have poured my all into this. I have had many stressful days, but the great days and proud moments definitely outweigh the few struggles I have faced. My dreams are coming true right in front me and this is only the beginning!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have been blessed to have so much support from the beginning. Things took off quicker than I expected and this quickly turned into a full time job with lots of overtime hours. I absolutely love what I do and this has truly become my passion. One struggle I face is constantly having my supplies go out of stock. I try to stock up the best I can, but sometimes I have to make changes which can be stressful. However, I always find a way to make things work and sometimes having to make a change ends up working out for the better!

Jack Finley Candle Co. is a luxury candle line based out of Baytown, Tx. All of our candles are made with a soyblend wax and have crackling wooden wicks. Our fragrances are handpicked and unique.
