Exploring Life & Business with Patrick Bias II of Sweet Sports Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Bias II

Hi Patrick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am the Founder and President of Sweet Sports Management, a full service sports agency specializing in representing basketball and football athletes, offering comprehensive support in college(NIL), professional, and NBA representation. I’ve had the privilege of representing exceptionally talented athletes across multiple sports. This includes two 4-star basketball players, one of whom earned the prestigious Gatorade Player of the Year award, as well as standout athletes in football, volleyball, and track.
Prior to starting the agency I was a Division 1 football athlete at the University of Texas at San Antonio. During my time at UTSA I earned my bachelors in Finance and held internships in marketing and finance roles at Procter & Gamble, and Wasserman Sports Agency on the PGA Tour. I also recently graduated with my MBA from the University of Florida.
I grew up playing basketball and football since the age of 4. I played competitive basketball on the AAU circuit traveling the country for tournaments and played Pop Warner football.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Becoming a certified NBA agent is no easy feat. It requires an in-depth understanding of the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which spans 676 pages and covers contracts, regulations, guarantees, and much more. If you don’t pass the exam, you must wait until the following year to retake it. Additionally, a bachelor’s degree and other important qualifications are required. I passed the exam on my first attempt. There are only 767 certified NBA agents worldwide.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sweet Sports Management?
My passion for being an agent stems from being an athlete and realizing how much of a business the industry is. It’s important to have someone knowledgable helping to guide your career. The mission is not just to recruit the highest ranked players but to find athletes with potential and develop them to be the highest performing athletes in their sport. I have a passion for nurturing talent and helping athletes accomplish their dreams. This includes after their playing career. The services we provide are a lot deeper than just negotiating contracts and that’s something we’re very proud of here. Family is our brand.
