Today we’d like to introduce you to R.C. Blakes.
Hi R.C., thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am RC Blakes, Jr. I am a pastor, author, and empowerment speaker. I am the husband of Lisa Blakes, father of four, and grandfather of three.
I am a second-generation pastor. I am from New Orleans, Louisiana. My father was the late Bishop Robert Blakes Sr. I pastor the same ministry that I was born into, and my father pastored – New Home Ministries.
New Home Ministries has had multiple campuses since the 1980s. Today, we have locations from Texas to Louisiana to Mississippi.
I started in ministry at a very young age as the assistant pastor to my father. I eventually was appointed as lead pastor of a New Hone Ministries church plant in New Orleans East. I served as pastor of that church for eighteen years until 2005, when Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Louisiana.
As a result of Katrina, our congregation was divided across the United States of America. Many of the leaders who had served in ministry with me decided to plant and rebuild their lives in Houston, Texas. For this reason, we decided to plant New Home Ministries in Houston.
Over these years, we have become a part of the Houston community. We purchased ten acres of land for our ministry campus at 4805 Schurmier Rd. In South Houston. We’ve built the first building of a multi-structure master plan.
Houston Texas is also the headquarters for me my wife Lady Lisa Blake’s’ international Ministry -RC BLAKES Inc. We reach tens of thousands of people on a weekly basis through our vibrant social media presence- website (www.rcblakes.com) and books as well as online programs.
We are most prolific in female empowerment. We are known for our QUEENOLOGY CONFERENCES, which attract women from around the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. It’s been quite challenging. It’s been setback after setback. I’ve had to bounce back from literal storms that caused me to start life over again at forty years of age. I’ve had to learn how to do Ministry through a pandemic.
It was after the world shut down that my global impact manifested. I had to pivot to social media, and it caused everything to explode.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
New Home Ministries is a Baptist organization with a sixty-year history. It’ originated from New Orleans, Louisiana, and extends to Texas and Mississippi.
Our focus is on developing strong families through applicable instructions. New Home is a teaching ministry.
I am personally known for my message The Father Daughter Talk. It’s a message that speaks to this generation of women as a proxy god absentee fathers in the lives of women.
The thing that sets us apart is the impact of reaching multiple generations as well as all ethnicities and cultures globally.
The thing I want your readers to know about RC Blakes Ministries and New Home Ministries is that we transcend religion. This is actually a life-changing experience.
