Exploring Life & Business with Sabrina Franklin of Franklin Insurance Solutions LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Franklin.

Hi Sabrina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey into entrepreneurship wasn’t planned—it was born out of necessity. As a certified educator battling an autoimmune disease, I found myself unable to meet the demands of being both an exceptional teacher and a fully present mother. During that time, one fear kept me up at night: What would happen to my children if I wasn’t here? I hadn’t secured life insurance outside my job before my diagnosis, and suddenly, I was ineligible for adequate coverage due to my pre-existing condition.

That fear became a wake-up call. It opened my eyes to the power—and the gaps—within the insurance industry.

From diagnosis in 1999 to remission in 2010, I fought hard. And when I was finally able to secure life insurance, I could breathe again. That moment planted a seed. I realized that financial protection isn’t just about money—it’s about peace of mind.

In 2017, I became an independent insurance agent, initially focusing on health and life insurance for individuals. But as I built my business, I naturally gravitated toward entrepreneurs and small business owners—the very people I was networking with, learning from, and growing alongside. In 2019, I founded Franklin Insurance Solutions LLC with a clear mission: to help entrepreneurs, small business owners, and their teams protect what they’re building from financial disaster.

Through my own struggles, I learned that life doesn’t always give you a heads-up. One unexpected event can flip everything upside down. That’s why I often say: “There are three things in life you can’t control—People, Time, and Life’s Risks.”
And while you can’t control them, you can absolutely lessen the financial impact with the right products in place.

As I grew my practice, I discovered something else—I’m a natural connector. I thrive in rooms full of visionaries. Networking isn’t just a strategy for me; it’s how I build community. That community led me to expand into Property & Casualty in 2023. I kept getting referrals for coverage I didn’t offer, and I knew it was time to grow.

2025 has been a breakthrough year. With the adoption of AI tools and InsurTech systems, my practice is becoming more efficient, responsive, and client-centered than ever. And I’ve leveled up my expertise by becoming a Certified Cyber Insurance Specialist, ensuring I can help my clients navigate today’s digital risks with confidence.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I faced early on was realizing just how saturated the life insurance space was. I mean, everybody and their momma had a license—friends, cousins, neighbors. It felt like I was entering a crowded room with everyone shouting the same thing. That made it tough to carve out a lane and build a financially sustainable business.

I remember a pitch coach once told me, “Life insurance isn’t a sexy product.” That comment stuck with me—not because I agreed, but because it forced me to take a hard, honest look at the industry. I had to ask myself: Is this something I can truly scale as an independent agent? Can I build a business that’s not just profitable, but meaningful?

Six years later, the answer is a resounding yes.

What I’ve found is that insurance—especially when done with heart and strategy—is not only financially rewarding, but also mentally and socially stimulating. I get to meet incredible people, solve real problems, and help build financial stability for families and businesses. That’s powerful. And that’s what keeps me going.

As you know, we’re big fans of Franklin Insurance Solutions LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I started Franklin Insurance Solutions because I wanted to create something that truly served people—especially entrepreneurs and small business owners—who often don’t have access to tailored, comprehensive insurance guidance. My journey into this industry was personal, and that’s why my approach is personal too. I know what it feels like to face uncertainty and not have the right protection in place. That experience shaped how I show up for my clients.

I specialize in health, life, supplemental, and commercial insurance—including general liability, professional liability, cyber insurance, and surety bonds. I’m known for making insurance feel less intimidating and more empowering. I take pride in educating my clients, helping them understand their options, and building coverage that fits their real-world needs.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect. I’m a natural networker, and I thrive in spaces where ideas and relationships grow. I’ve built a strong referral community simply by showing up, listening, and being consistent. I’m proud that my brand reflects that—it’s approachable, knowledgeable, and rooted in care.

One of the things I’m most proud of is how I’ve embraced technology to improve the client experience. I’ve integrated InsurTech tools and AI systems into my practice to make things smoother, faster, and more transparent. And I’ve recently become a Certified Cyber Insurance Specialist, which allows me to better serve businesses navigating digital risks.

Franklin Insurance Solutions is growing—and soon, it won’t just be “me.” I’m building toward a team that shares my values and vision, so we can serve more clients and expand our impact. The “we” is coming, and I’m excited for what’s next.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is performing in my elementary school’s talent show with my friends, singing “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge. I still remember us practicing the moves—laughing, messing up, trying again, and just having the best time. It was the first time I stood in front of a big audience, and I was nervous. But something about being with my friends gave me the courage to push through.

We got up there, did our thing, and nailed it. I’ll never forget the feeling of executing what we practiced and hearing the crowd erupt in a standing ovation. That moment taught me a lot about teamwork, resilience, and showing up even when you’re scared. Whew, what a beautiful memory.
