Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From working as a brick mason to equipment operator, then 23 yrs ago taking a position as a concrete cutter, which led to my passion today. I was introduced along with my previous skills to learn this craft and to find it so natural to me. I became an Csda certified operator in 2004. I worked as a senior operator up to operations manager for a prominent Houston company. I raised 6 sons , they always heard my dreams of owning my own concrete cutting Buisness. For years I was a single parent so wasn’t easy, early on I met my wife, Melissa , who stood by my dreams like a strong tower of support. One day I took that leap of faith drained every dollar in saving and money saved for retirement and purchased my first saw and trailer. I found support in friends and family along with the business relationships I had established along the way. There’s no joke in me saying it was a very difficult journey, so many expenses and cost. No salesman just hustle I looked for work , slowly one by one , job by job , I had to run a very tight business knowing every job had to go smooth with strict discipline and safety. I grew up always hearing” every job both great and small, do it well or not at all” so it’s driven into and our company motto” always done right” no shortcuts , honesty and Integrity on every job. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not easy at all, there’s a lot of big players in the business with strong relationships, I would quote jobs to barely make a return just to get in front of the right contractors I would have to sell a job by saying” just let us show you, discover the Apex advantage. Specialty equipment is very expensive, my sons always heard my dream and say someday I’m gonna by me a new corvette, instead I ended up buying a concrete flat saw, no financial support just a hustle. One man buying equipment cash and barely able to keep food on the home table doing so, but my wife and sons pushing me to pursue my dreams

We are a specialty contractor we do commercial, civil and residential concrete cutting. Core drilling for wall penetrations for electrical, plumbing and hvac customers. Flat sawing for trench cutting, demolition of previous places concrete, trench work. Wall sawing for door and window openings and ground penetrating radar to see obstacles within the concrete , we build our reputation on perfection always doing a job at the upmost safe, on time , clean”our motto” always done right” is the upmost factor we stand by, not only treated fair, but we try our best to be very cost effective. Like core drilling 5” cores 100 ft deep horizontally and hitting an x on opposite side within an inch, with gravity , spiral and physics , that’s some really good math and skill . Along with many others. What sets us apart when we pull up on a job , there’s no doubt of the outcome of completed project.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My dad was a brick mason , he worked seamed like day an night. I had a big family 10 brothers and sisters . My dad would come home after dark and work a 5 acre garden not only a passion as organic gardener but to feed his family. I can remember weekends he would till over weeds , I can still smell the fresh dirt walking in his big steps asking so many questions it seemed he knew so many answers. To this day I still try to fallow in those same steps
