Hi Skye, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my entrepreneur journey with a blog during the pandemic. From there, I started working in graphic design, web design, and social media management! I eventually used my self-taught skills to secure my very first position in marketing. I started as a Social Media Manager and worked my way up to becoming a Digital Marketing Specialist managing celebrities and big businesses. Now, I am running my own business full time again! I help entrepreneurs grow their online presence and gain customers on social media. I also run an online blog that’s dedicated to mental health, wellness, and women’s empowerment.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Ha, I wish! I think that I’ve faced the same struggles most Black Women in positions of power face. I’ve dealt with racism and sexism in the workplace, of course. However, my biggest struggles have always been internal. It takes a lot of strength, courage, and belief in yourself to pursue your own dreams. Self-doubt and negative self-talk have always been my biggest personal conflict. There are also things like lack of resources and support. When it comes to those things, I choose to take the initiative to find information and resources for myself. I also choose to focus on the people who are supporting me, and that gets me through a lot!

Any big plans?
There are so many exciting plans for the future of Cloud Nine Academy! Our mentorship program just launched to educate recent college graduates and provide them with the experience they need to work their way into the Marketing field. We’re working on three different online courses and ebooks that will strengthen our consumers as marketers in their own businesses. There’s also a community outreach program in the works that offer free public speaking opportunities for children and teens looking to get into Social Media Marketing. My biggest goal is to grace the stage of my own TED Talk to share the power of Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
