Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Before starting Advanced Legal Funding, I spent years working in the legal industry and really learning the business from the ground up. I worked incredibly hard, climbed the ladder, and gained experience in almost every aspect of the space. But one thing I couldn’t ignore was the reality of being a woman in a heavily male-dominated industry.

I knew I was being paid less than some of my male counterparts, despite producing the same, if not better results. And I remember hitting a point where I thought to myself, ‘It’s either now or never.’ I could either continue helping build someone else’s company, or I could take the risk and build my own.

So I took a leap of faith and started Advanced Legal Funding. It was one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made, because entrepreneurship doesn’t come with guarantees. But I believed in my experience, my vision, and my ability to create something different.

What really motivated me was wanting to build a company that truly understood people, both the clients needing support during difficult legal situations and the law firms we partner with. I wanted to create a business built on relationships, transparency, speed, and trust.

Becoming the first female-owned funding company was something I’m incredibly proud of, not just for myself, but because I hope it shows other women that there is room for them to lead in industries where they’ve traditionally been overlooked. Sometimes the biggest opportunities come from betting on yourself when no one else fully sees the vision yet.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. Starting my own company was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, but it definitely was not a smooth road. The moment I stepped out on my own, I became a target in a lot of ways.

I was entering an industry that is very male dominated, and once people saw that I was building something successful as a woman and doing it independently, it made some competitors and even some reps uncomfortable. There were people who felt threatened by my growth and by the fact that I was proving myself in spaces where they did not expect me to succeed.

Unfortunately, that led to a lot of negativity. I dealt with people spreading horrible lies and rumors about me and my business in attempts to damage my reputation or take accounts away from me. And honestly, there were moments where it worked. I lost accounts, lost opportunities, and had to rebuild parts of my business from the ground up.

But I think those experiences forced me to become stronger, smarter, and more resilient as a business owner. I learned very quickly that not everyone will celebrate your growth, especially when your success challenges what they are used to.

Instead of letting it break me, I focused on continuing to build. I stayed consistent, kept proving myself through my work, and refused to let outside noise dictate my future. Now we are operating nationwide and continuing to scale, and I am proud that I did not allow other people’s opinions, intimidation, or tactics to stop me from creating something successful.

We’ve been impressed with Advanced Legal Funding, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Advanced Legal Funding is a nationwide legal funding company that helps provide financial relief to plaintiffs during difficult legal situations. We work closely with both clients and law firms to help individuals access funds while their cases are still ongoing, so they can focus on healing and stability instead of financial pressure.

What sets us apart is the way we approach the industry. We are not just focused on transactions, we are focused on relationships, transparency, and genuinely helping people through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
