Hi Tanijah & Justin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
No Forks was born from a passion for creating memorable experiences and sharing something we genuinely love with our community. We traveled and lived in different places where açaí bowls were a staple, and everywhere we went, we found ourselves seeking them out. When we looked around Houston, we saw a city full of vibrant neighborhoods and people who value health, wellness, and an active lifestyle. We felt there was an opportunity to bring something unique to that space while making healthy eating fun, approachable, and delicious.

Before starting No Forks, we owned and operated a boat chartering company. Through that business, we learned that people remember how you make them feel just as much as the service you provide. We carried that same mindset into No Forks. To us, the bowl is more than a bowl—it’s an experience. We wanted to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, whether they’re stopping by for a quick snack, meeting friends, or making us part of their daily routine.

We launched No Forks in June 2025 with a vision of doing things differently. Even our name reflects that mindset. We wanted a playful name that communicated we weren’t a typical açaí bowl concept. We enjoy remixing traditional bowls with creative fruits, spreads, and superfoods to give customers something they can’t find just anywhere. From day one, we’ve focused on building genuine connections with our customers and creating a brand that people feel a part of. That commitment to community, creativity, and customer experience is what has brought us to where we are today and continues to drive everything we do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road, but every challenge has helped us grow. One of the biggest struggles in the beginning was simply getting people to try the product. We knew we had a great product and a unique experience to offer, but as a new business, people first have to know you exist. During those first few weeks, we spent a lot of time focusing on social media, building brand awareness, and encouraging people to give us a chance.

Another challenge was operating from a food truck. Some people naturally associate food trucks with convenience rather than a destination experience, so we had to prove that No Forks was more than just a quick stop. We stayed consistent with both our product quality and customer service, and over time people began making us part of their routine. Today, we see customers meeting friends at our picnic tables, enjoying date nights in their cars, and coming back multiple times a week. Watching that transformation has been incredibly rewarding.

One lesson we learned along the way is the importance of building the right team early. As business picked up, there were periods where we were taking on a lot ourselves, which led to long hours and burnout. Looking back, having even more faith in the vision from the start and investing in a team sooner would have helped create a better balance. Entrepreneurship comes with challenges, but each obstacle has reinforced the importance of consistency, adaptability, and trusting the process. Those experiences have helped shape No Forks into what it is today.

We specialize in premium açaí bowls that can be customized with a variety of fruits, superfoods, and unique toppings, allowing our customers to create a bowl that fits their tastes and lifestyle.

What sets us apart is our commitment to both quality and connection. We don’t view our customers as transactions; we view them as part of our community.
