Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Branch.
Hi Timothy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Well, I was born into a family of local musicians. My grandpa and my dad have always played guitar and sang; however, I started playing drums around ten years old. It wasn’t until I moved away for college, in 2009, that I really picked up a guitar that my dad had lent me. I started watching videos and teaching myself the guitar in my Phoenix, AZ apartment. After finishing school and moving back to Texas, I started playing shows at small family-owned restaurants in tiny towns just south of San Antonio. Moving forward to 2017, my wife became pregnant and we moved back to our hometown area, Brazoria County.
In between my full-time job and being a new dad, I started playing at local bars and restaurants about once a month. As of today, I’m fortunate enough to say that my calendar stays booked several nights a week with local shows or private events. I have also recently started venturing out to different locations, including a Texas hill country tour this September. I’m looking forward to that, and excited to meet some new people and hopefully make some new fans! I play country/Americana music and cover artists like Whiskey Myers, Ryan Bingham, Sturgill Simpson, Turnpike Troubadours. I also play a little classic rock and blues, along with the original songs that I’ve written.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a part of my life growing up. You have to crawl before you walk but in this case, I was born running. Having other musicians in the band can be a challenge due to schedules to practice and perform. Having my younger brother as my drummer has really worked out for us.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is Tim Branch. I’d say what I hear most about why people like my music is because I play true country and Americana music. I play guitar, harmonica, and sing to cover the songs that I love and want other people to experience; not just popular request songs.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t know if I’ve had any kind of luck in my life, but I’ve tried my best to keep my faith and my supportive family to keep me going!
