Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was scrolling on Facebook when I noticed a post my cousin’s wife had shared to her newsfeed ” become a tax prepare earning up to 6 figures in 90 days”. and it instantly caught my attention because at the time I was a stay-at-home mother of three with little to no income due to my daughter being diagnosed with epilepsy. I reached out to her to get the process started and she sent me a link to pay. I had taken my last $150 I had in my account and invested into starting up my tax business. Jakaylon White the owner of White’s Big Dog Tax Services LLC, had given me the blueprint and proper training to run a successful tax business. At the time I had just lost my mother who was my backbone, so I knew I had to do something to be able to provide for my family and running my own tax company seemed like the way to go. I stepped out on faith at 25 years old not knowing if my business would flourish but trusting God and going through the process slowly seeing my business and finances grow each year. Today I am still flourishing and growing and able to accomplish goals all because I took that step.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a struggle, but the road wasn’t smooth either. running a tax company can be a lot for one person especially when you are starting from nothing. Believe it or not my family wasn’t the first to support me on my journey but the father of my children family and also strangers allowed me to build a foundation by trusting me as a beginner tax preparer. The first year was bumpy because I had to build clientele which wasn’t easy. By the second year my clientele started growing more and more because word got around, I was the new tax lady. I had so much overflow that it overwhelmed me i had to seek help in order to keep up and stay on track. I was blessed to be able to hire my sister-in-law as an assistant. In the tax industry there’s a lot of competition, but I never let that stand in my way of being the best tax preparer there is! as the years come along, I’m finding that the road is finally getting smoother for me

My company is not based off lies and deception i go by the books and I educate my clients on their tax situations free of charge because everyone deserves the knowledge behind their taxes. Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see my business expanding in different locations and my tax bracket changing from six figures to eight figures and counting. I can see myself starting a trend of having other tax preparers pay it forward as I do by giving back to the clients because without them there would be no tax industry.
