Today we’d like to introduce you to Twanique McLean.
Hi Twanique, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born in St. John’s, Antigua, and moved to the United States when I was three years old. I’ve always believed that everyone has a story worth telling, and that belief inspired me to start Union VibeCam LLC in 2006. What began as a passion for photography and videography has grown into a business dedicated to capturing meaningful moments and helping people preserve memories they’ll cherish for a lifetime.
Along the way, I’ve balanced entrepreneurship with raising five children while continuing my education. Earning my associate degree in Business Marketing Management as an adult learner reminded me that it’s never too late to pursue your goals, and I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management at the University of Houston-Downtown.
More recently, I’ve expanded into motivational storytelling, using my experiences to encourage others to keep moving forward no matter where they are in life. Whether through my camera or my words, my purpose is the same: to inspire, connect, and leave people better than I found them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. Like many small business owners, I’ve had to balance entrepreneurship with a full-time career, raising five children, and continuing my education. There were seasons when finding the time, energy, and resources to grow my business felt overwhelming.
I’ve also experienced several serious car accidents that led to major surgeries and long recoveries. Those moments tested me physically, mentally, and emotionally, but they also strengthened my faith and reminded me never to take tomorrow for granted.
Through every setback, I chose to keep moving forward. I’ve learned that success isn’t about avoiding obstacles it’s about being resilient enough to overcome them. Those experiences have shaped not only the person I am today but also the way I connect with clients and tell their stories with compassion and purpose.

What began as a passion for photography and videography has grown into a creative brand that now includes photography, videography, embroidery, custom apparel, and personalized branding services.
We specialize in capturing life’s most meaningful moments through portraits, graduations, weddings, family sessions, events, and promotional content while also helping businesses and families express themselves through custom embroidered apparel and personalized designs. One of our growing brands, Royal Dezigns, focuses on creating custom embroidered baby apparel and unique personalized gifts.

Most people know me as a photographer, but many don’t realize that I rarely see Union VibeCam as just a photography business. My vision has always been much bigger. I see it as a creative brand where photography, videography, embroidery, custom apparel, branding, and motivational storytelling all come together under one umbrella. I’m always thinking about the next idea, the next service, and the next way to help people bring their vision to life. Creativity isn’t just what I do it’s how I see the world.
