Today we’d like to introduce you to Vienna Julien.
Hi Vienna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Coast Guard spouse and during the Government shutdown in 2019 when the CG didn’t get paid, I decided as a mom of 2 and pregnant with our 3rd that I needed to get a job – especially a flexible one since my babies were little. I interviewed for the local news channel with another realtor and she got me set up with a meeting at her brokerage.
I have since then switched brokerages and I am no longer with my previous brokerage Keller Williams. I have been a real estate agent since July 2019. I didn’t know anyone here since we PCS’d here. So it took me 10 months to get my 1st deal. I have since closed over 100 houses, my husband got out of the CG after 8.5 years, and we are setting roots down in Houston.
I became a realtor that specializes in sight unseen military moves. I have personally moved sight unseen 3 times and when I moved to Houston, we moved from New Hampshire and our Realtor didn’t do a good job about showing us everything. we closed by only seeing the pictures on the MLS. I cried when I first walked in. The house was backwards from the pictures, I didn’t like the surrounding areas, it’s too small, I just wouldn’t have picked my house. On top of that, about 27 days after we closed on our house, we flooded in Hurricane Harvey. Our realtor and lender told us we did not need flood insurance! So we were young, new to Texas, and our new house was ruined. It drained our entire savings, caused a little bit of PTSD of rain because everytime it rains, or street floods, and we had to live in remodel mess for over a year!
As a realtor now, I strive to help families move in and out of Houston (hopefully) as prepared as can be for Texas, hurricanes, and flooding.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No. Not knowing people in an area is hard. Trying to get clients or get to know people is hard. I went months with a real estate roller coaster journey!

I am a Realtor in the Houston area that specializes in sight unseen military moves. I am also the new host of the 2 time Emmy nominated TV show – The American Dream! I am shooting segments around Houston and Galveston about our market, our culture, and of course real estate! I am happy of the brand I have built and continue to build. I am proud of the community I am creating and the one I am a part of. I have client event often and I love meeting up with past and furture clients for a good time!
