Hi! I’m Tomeka, a professional makeup artist with a passion for creating custom looks that enhance your natural beauty and make you feel confident for any occasion.

My specialty is natural glam and bridal makeup, with a focus on flawless, long-lasting finishes that stand out in person and on camera. I only use high-quality, skin-friendly products, so clients always feel as good as they look.

People choose me because of my attention to detail, my ability to listen and personalize every look, and my commitment to making each client feel their absolute best.

What’s been the most exciting part of the journey of taking this from idea to real life?
The most exciting part of this journey has been the connections and relationships I’ve built with clients as well as other business owners, and watching myself develop and my business grow from that development.

As a MUA, I’m many of my clients personal MUA, just as their hair stylist or nail tech. I walk through celebrations with them as well as loss of loved ones. Seeing my flexibility and strength to adapt to be what my clients need is a true gift, a superpower. Without the advice and guidance of other seasoned business owners, I wouldn’t have acquired the openness I need to service all walks of life.

Do you admire how others in the industry market their services? Who do you think does an admirable job of representing the industry?
One of my favorite bridal MUA’s in Houston is Ashley Adams. Not only is she a MUA but she’s also a photographer. And one of hey passions is helping others to grow their brand.

When it comes to makeup application, she is versed in all styles of makeup, from the woman who doesn’t want foundation to the woman who wants it all. Her marketing represents her in depth knowledge and expertise of skin types, products, and brands. She gets it. It’s clear her aim is to bring forth the best in the woman she’s servicing rather than creating something that isn’t there.

What’s next on the service or brand roadmap?
What’s next for Tomeka Chanel Makeup Artistry is a cosmetic and skincare line. It’s important to me that women affirm themselves with the Word of God. Seeing myself through the Word was how I discovered my true beauty.

I desire to create an affordable affirming brand that sparks consciousness in creativity, and confidence that comes from within and flows outward. Looking pretty is not enough. Feeling pretty is everything.
