Today we’d like to introduce you to Adonis / Bronson Graham / Gutierrez
Hi Adonis / Bronson, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
What began as a friendship in 2011 has grown into a partnership between two driven individuals committed to leaving a lasting mark—not only on Houston’s hospitality scene but on the industry nationwide.
Our story started at Pub Fiction, a cornerstone of Midtown’s vibrant nightlife, where two ambitious up-and-comers crossed paths and quickly discovered a shared vision for something bigger. Over the years, we each honed our craft, pursued our own paths, and gained invaluable experience, but the dream of building something together never faded. That vision came full circle when the opportunity arose to take over a venue in the very building where it all began.
In 2019, we launched our first business together—an ambitious concept that, like so many others, was forced to close its doors in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19. After eight months of navigating uncertainty and reevaluating our next move, we made the decision to regroup, reimagine the space, and build something that truly reflected our vision and values.
That rebirth became FAO, a nightlife experience designed to break the traditional bar mold. Located in the heart of Midtown, FAO combines high-energy entertainment with nostalgic, interactive elements, featuring classic arcade and bar games, immersive events, and a rooftop escape overlooking the city. But more than just a venue, FAO is built on the foundation of genuine hospitality—a place where connection, creativity, and culture collide to create unforgettable experiences.
We are two visionaries with a combined 30+ years of experience in the hospitality industry. From managing some of Houston’s most iconic venues to developing innovative bar concepts, our journey has been fueled by resilience, passion, and a commitment to inspiring others along the way. Together, we’re on a mission to redefine what hospitality means—leading with purpose, designing spaces with intention, and delivering service that leaves a lasting impression.
Grounded in passion and purpose, we’ve built a partnership defined by hard work, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the bigger picture—proving that with discipline and dedication, a bold vision can become
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the early stages of our careers, navigating the hospitality industry felt relatively smooth. We worked our way through some of Houston’s most notable venues, consistently excelling in our roles and becoming key contributors to every team we joined. With a shared commitment to providing value, we earned our place as top performers, learning from the best and gaining the experience necessary to one day create something of our own. Those years were foundational—shaping our understanding of what it takes to operate a successful venue and reinforcing the passion that continues to drive us today.
However, the transition from working in the industry to owning and operating our own business has been anything but easy. From the moment we opened our first concept, the challenges began. COVID-19 was a hurdle we never could have anticipated—shutting us down just as we were getting started. The weight of that moment was heavy, but looking back, it was a blessing in disguise. It forced us to pause, reset, and ultimately create something that feels true to who we are. FAO HTX was born from that moment—a unique concept built on the principles of genuine hospitality, designed to welcome all walks of life, and provide an experience that brings people together through connection, entertainment, and culture.
Since opening FAO, the challenges haven’t stopped. We’ve worked hard to stand out in a saturated market while helping revive the energy and excitement of Midtown’s once-thriving entertainment district. Economic pressures and shifting consumer habits have made the climb even steeper, but our commitment to innovation and creating memorable experiences has never wavered. We are constantly finding new ways to elevate FAO HTX—whether through dynamic events, curated programming, or thoughtful service—ensuring that every guest who walks through our doors feels the passion and purpose behind what we do. For us, it’s about more than just running a bar; it’s about building a space where people genuinely want to be and creating moments they’ll want to come back for.

Crafted for Speed and Quality: Our Draft Cocktail Program
At FAO HTX, we understand that waiting too long for a drink can kill the momentum of a great night. That’s why we’ve implemented a draft cocktail program that ensures fast, efficient service without sacrificing quality. Our draft cocktails are carefully crafted using premium ingredients, allowing us to deliver perfectly balanced drinks in record time.
Each cocktail on tap is designed to be both refreshing and full of flavor, ensuring that every pour meets our high standards. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic like an Old Fashioned or something more adventurous, our draft system ensures consistency and precision in every sip. This innovation allows us to focus on what truly matters—creating a seamless experience where you spend more time enjoying your drink and less time waiting for it.
Beyond draft cocktails, our bar program features a well-curated selection of spirits, local beers, and creative mixed drinks that cater to all palates. Our bartenders are passionate about their craft, always ready to recommend something new or shake up a classic just the way you like it.
The Ultimate Social Experience: Games, Music, and Vibes
FAO HTX is more than just a bar—it’s a playground for adults who love a little competition with their cocktails. We’ve curated a selection of interactive games that add an extra layer of excitement to your night. Whether you’re challenging a friend to a game of hoops, testing your skills on the latest arcade games, or engaging in a nostalgic round of your favorite childhood classic, there’s something for everyone.
Our space is designed to be social, encouraging interaction and friendly competition. The games aren’t just an afterthought—they’re an integral part of the FAO experience. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking for a fun way to connect with others, our games provide the perfect backdrop for unforgettable moments.
Music also plays a huge role in shaping the atmosphere at FAO HTX. Our playlist is carefully curated to keep the energy up, mixing classic hits with modern favorites. On any given night, you might find our team behind the bar not just pouring drinks but also setting the vibe by picking the perfect track to keep the party going.

The A&B Effect
In addition to operating FAO HTX, we created The A&B Effect—a consulting business built to elevate bars and restaurants throughout Houston and beyond. With decades of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of what it takes to run a successful, sustainable program, we work directly with owners and operators to develop innovative bar concepts, streamline operations, and maximize profitability without sacrificing quality. Our focus is on pushing the industry forward through thoughtful strategy, creative menu development, and systems that prioritize both the guest experience and the bottom line.
But The A&B Effect goes beyond consulting. We also offer interactive cocktail classes designed to educate and inspire, giving people a deeper appreciation for the craft of bartending. Whether it’s an intimate gathering, corporate event, or private party, we bring the same level of hospitality and expertise through our mobile bartending services—capable of executing events at nearly any scale.
