Hi Ahmet, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a deep love for art and a passion for sharing the beauty of my culture. In 2023, I founded Pedalisa Art in Texas to bring the centuries-old tradition of Turkish mosaic lamps to the U.S. What started as a small local project has grown into workshops in over 50 cities, where I love seeing people of all ages create their own lamps and leave with not just a keepsake, but a memorable experience. For me, Pedalisa Art is about connecting people through art and sharing the rich culture I cherish.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth — every participant brings their own ideas and style, so guiding each creation takes patience and energy. But seeing their faces light up when their lamp is finished, and knowing I’ve helped them create something meaningful, makes every challenge worth it.

Every class is full of creativity, connection, and fun, leaving participants with a keepsake and a memorable story.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing people truly enjoy themselves and create meaningful memories. Watching families, friends, and multi-generational groups — mother-daughters, grandparents celebrating birthdays, little kids taking a break from screens — laugh, connect, and make something beautiful together is incredibly rewarding. It’s the smiles, the laughter, and the joy of new friendships, and knowing they leave with a keepsake that will remind them of that special moment forever.
