Hi Ajee’, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Essential Healing was created during the pandemic (Summer of 2020). I was struggling with a migraine and while I was praying, God simply told me to look up remedies using essential oils and natural products. During that week, I not only came up with the name Essential Healing, but I also had ingredients written down for various products such as body butters, sugar scrubs body oils, and even a healing balm for headaches/migraines and sleep/relaxation.
I immediately started to test out different formulas and methods to create these all-natural, body care products. Amazon became my best friend, lol! I have very sensitive skin, so I used myself to test out everything. Once satisfied, I would send products to my friends for their feedback and my boyfriend at the time, now husband, would even use the products. I received all good feedback with some suggestions!
November 1st of, 2020 is when Essential Healing officially launched! The website consisted of only whipped body butters and sugar scrubs at the time. The site was sold out within a few hours! Mind blown! I couldn’t wrap my mind around how a sudden idea, already reached so many people. With the help of my husband, Alex, we were able to fulfill all the orders that evening and ship them out the very next day! I was so anxious as orders were shipped out, but all the feedback I received was good and it was clear that I had to get back to work to restock the website.
As a true woman of God, I made sure that I involved God in every aspect of Essential Healing. I prayed over all of my products and just simply asked that they would bless whoever receives them. Essential Healing has testimonies of healing eczema, dry skin, sunburn, and so much more! I always tell people that God is truly the #1 ingredient when it comes to Essential Healing. Every product is handmade in small batches with love and all-natural ingredients while also being infused with essential oils. Currently, Essential Healing provides whipped body butters, body oils, and handmade soaps.
It’s so much more to Essential Healing’s story! November 1, 2022 will mark 2 years that Essential Healing has been in business. We started out in a guest room in Kentucky and now we are located in sunny California where the demand for our products are still high! In just one short year, Essential Healing has been honored to be a vendor at pop-up shops, conferences, and even a boat-ride. I can’t wait to see what year 2 holds, but I am so thankful for all the love and support thus far!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting and running a business is far from easy! When a business is run by one person, you wear many hats! There will always be struggles, but I needed those struggles to get Essential Healing where it is today.
My biggest obstacle, in the beginning, was packaging and labeling. When I provided sugar scrubs, sometimes they would leak during transit which is not a good look! You also cannot control how mail carriers handle packages these days. Luckily all of my customers were very understanding and I always made sure to provide great customer service. Thank God for grace! I did some research and found jar seals that I could use for the sugar scrubs…problem solved!
Creating and sizing labels were also a hassle in the beginning. If you see me now, I’m a pro, but I needed those lessons to help me learn and now I help others create labels or provide them with the resources needed.
I’ve learned to embrace the challenges because they are equipping me to handle what’s to come!

We only use all-natural ingredients and then infuse our products with essential oils to provide not only moisture to the skin, but overall healing as well.
