Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Thibodeaux
Hi Alexis, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve loved baking since I was a kid. I was always glued to baking shows and competitions, dreaming about being in their shoes one day. But for the longest time, fear held me back from starting my own business. I kept putting it off, doubting myself and worrying about failing.
Everything changed when I lost my grandmother. She had this amazing way of bringing people together through her cooking and baking, and I always admired that about her. After she passed, I felt like her passion had been passed down to me. Baking became more than just something I loved, it became therapeutic, and a way to honor her and keep that tradition alive.
That’s how Frosted Delights HTX was born. Even though it’s still fairly new, it’s growing into something amazing. I’ve finally pushed past the fear, and embracing the journey, for I know in my heart it’s going to be worth it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The toughest part was just getting started. Like I mentioned before, fear was my biggest obstacle. I spent three years going back and forth, one minute feeling ready to dive in, and the next, talking myself out of it, thinking I’d fail or that I wouldn’t be good enough.
What finally pushed me forward was a lot of prayer, self-reflection, and the drive to honor my grandmother’s legacy. Once I got past that fear, I realized that, yes, this journey won’t always be easy, but I’m ready to take on whatever comes my way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business, Frosted Delights HTX, is a cottage food bakery based in East Houston. We create all kinds of delicious treats, such as custom cakes, cupcakes, breads, brownies, cookies and more. Whether it’s for a special occasion or just to satisfy a sweet tooth.
We specialize in cakes and cupcakes, but we’re really excited about our newest menu item: Mini Bundt Delights! They’re a fun, single-serving take on classic Bundt cakes, giving that nostalgic homemade flavor with a modern twist.
That’s really what our brand is all about, taking Grandma’s classic recipes and giving them a fresh, updated feel. We take custom orders, cater events, and soon, you might even spot us at your local farmers market!

I think it’s just as important to hear someone’s story at the beginning as it is when they’ve made it big. Frosted Delights HTX is still in its early chapters, but there’s so much excitement ahead. This is just the start, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!
