Today we’d like to introduce you to Ann Wallace.
Hi Ann, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I didn’t grow up imagining I’d be a real estate agent, but looking back, it makes perfect sense. I’ve always loved people, storytelling, and the feeling of “home.” What started as a simple interest eventually turned into a passion and a career that has shaped the last 20+ years of my life.
I got my start in real estate over two decades ago, working hard to learn the market, build relationships, and show clients that I was someone they could trust. I didn’t have a big team behind me then — just determination, a love for helping people, and a willingness to outwork everyone around me.
As the years went on, that dedication turned into results. My business grew, my reputation grew, and eventually, the Wallace Homes Group was born. We became known not just for our experience, but for our heart — the way we show up for families, stay rooted in the community, and treat every transaction like it’s the most important one. That’s because to someone, it is.
Today, we’re proud to be part of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene and to serve the Tomball and Northwest Houston area we know and love. Our team has earned awards, filmed episodes with American Dream TV, and built an incredible network — but what matters most is still the same: helping people move with confidence, clarity, and a little more joy.
It’s been a long road full of growth, change, and gratitude. Honestly, I feel like we’re just getting started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every bump has shaped who I am as a person and as a real estate professional.
Real estate can be incredibly rewarding, but it’s also unpredictable. Early on, I went through seasons where the phone barely rang, deals fell apart days before closing, and I questioned if I was really cut out for this business. I didn’t have a team yet, it was just me juggling showings, paperwork, marketing, late-night learning, and early-morning problem-solving.
There were market shifts that forced me to rethink everything. Times when interest rates spiked, inventory dried up, or the economy slowed and every client felt nervous. There were moments of burnout, moments where I was spread too thin, and moments I felt like I had to be “on” 24/7 just to keep up.
And of course, building a team comes with its own set of challenges – learning to lead, delegate, and trust others with the same level of care I give my clients. Growth is exciting, but it’s not always easy.
But here’s the truth: every struggle taught me something invaluable. How to stay adaptable. How to build systems. How to show up even when the path wasn’t clear. How to center my business around relationships, not just transactions.
Looking back, the challenges were necessary. They pushed me to grow, refine, and build something stronger than I could’ve imagined at the start. And today, those tough moments are the reason I can confidently guide clients, lead a team, and navigate whatever the market brings next.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Wallace Homes Group ?
Our business is built on people, passion, and deep local roots, and that’s what we’re most proud of.
The Wallace Homes Group, powered by Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, is a full-service real estate team helping families across Tomball, Northwest Houston, and the surrounding communities buy, sell, and invest with confidence. With over 20 years of experience, we’ve built a reputation for being the team that truly shows up with expertise, heart, and a commitment to making every client feel taken care of.
What we do and specialize in:
We guide clients through every step of the real estate process from prepping a listing and strategic pricing to helping buyers navigate financing, new construction, acreage properties, and everything in between. We’re known for our high-level marketing (professional media, storytelling, strategic exposure), our deep community involvement, and the way we turn what can be a stressful process into a more enjoyable, understandable one.
What sets us apart:
Our clients often tell us it’s our balance of professionalism and personality. We take the work seriously, but we also bring warmth, humor, and a human touch to everything we do. We lean heavily into education, transparency, and communication so that our clients always know what to expect and feel supported every step of the way. And because we’re local experts who live, work, film, and volunteer here, we’re able to offer insights that go far beyond MLS data.
We also embrace modern branding and creative marketing from social media storytelling to American Dream TV features because selling a home today requires more than a sign in the yard. It requires connection.
Brand-wise, what we’re most proud of:
We’ve built a brand that feels approachable, trustworthy, and community-centered. It reflects who we are: a team that loves people, loves our community, and loves making real estate feel less intimidating and more empowering. Our new branding under Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene has elevated that even further while keeping the heart of what makes us, us.
What we want readers to know:
Whether you’re buying, selling, relocating, downsizing, investing, or just curious about the market — we’re here. We meet you where you are, walk at your pace, and offer guidance rooted in decades of experience and genuine care. We’re not just here for the transaction; we’re here for the relationship.
Real estate is personal, and we’re honored to be the trusted name families turn to when it’s time for their next chapter.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a mix of equal parts driven, curious, and people-oriented, even if I didn’t realize those traits would someday lead me into real estate.
I was the kid who always wanted to be involved in everything. I loved being around people, organizing things, helping friends, and finding little ways to make situations run smoother. I’ve always had a natural pull toward leadership and problem-solving, even at a young age – whether it was coordinating school projects, stepping up when others hesitated, or being the one friends came to for advice.
Creativity was also a big part of my personality growing up. I loved design, aesthetics, and anything that let me express myself — from rearranging my room constantly to paying attention to details most kids my age overlooked. That “eye for space” and obsession with making things feel inviting ended up becoming an asset later in life.
I’ve always been energetic and a bit of a perfectionist, but also social, outgoing, and relationship-driven. I loved connecting with others, listening to their stories, and understanding what made them tick. And I’ve always had a strong work ethic. Once I committed to something, I was all in.
Looking back, all those little pieces -the creativity, the leadership, the curiosity, the love for people – were building blocks. They shaped not just who I became as an adult, but the way I run my business today: with heart, intention, and a genuine passion for helping others find where they feel most at home.
