Hi April, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Before the titles, before the testimony, I was just a girl searching for love in places that only left me empty.
I was born into rejection, shaped by neglect, and baptized in pain, the kind of pain that doesn’t just bruise you, it breaks you. A daughter who never felt chosen. A woman who kept giving herself away hoping someone would see her worth.
But what life tried to destroy, God rebuilt. I am Prophetess April Thompkins, the black sheep turned bold lioness. Through heartbreak, abuse, deception, and even incarceration, I birthed a new version of myself. I died to who the world said I was and surrendered to the fire, and it refined me. From being stripped of almost everything, I gained clarity. From losing my freedom, I found my faith.
I have been walking with God for over 25 years, and during that time I have had the honor of ministering to women through discipleship ministries, prayer gatherings, and spiritual transformation programs. Yet, it wasn’t until I truly gave my life to Christ and said yes to His will that my prophetic gift began to expand in ways I never imagined. That deeper surrender unlocked a new dimension of clarity, revelation, and divine alignment.
My goal is to help women reclaim their power and walk boldly in their authentic being. It is so imperative that we die to the environments, the places, and the things we have been engulfed in to truly reclaim the power that God placed within us before we were even born. I had to learn how to release every hurt, pain, and disappointment in order to get to this point. That process of healing and surrender is what now allows me to help others reclaim their truth and remember who they truly are.
Through INSPIRE2FLOW Coaching LLC. and All About God Ministry, my spiritual gifts have allowed me to humbly embrace men and women of all ethnicities, backgrounds, and walks of life. I operate fully through divine downloads from God not from rehearsed methods or programs, but by receiving fresh revelation for each person I encounter. That is how transformation happens, because every message, prayer, and encounter flows directly from Heaven.
INSPIRE2FLOW is more than a coaching practice; it is a spiritual movement that helps people realign with their higher purpose. I teach how to flow in divine rhythm, merging spirituality and the power of the mind to unlock clarity, healing, and manifestation.
All About God Ministry began as early morning prayer calls and has grown into an international faith movement reaching lives from Houston to Dallas, Bermuda to Zimbabwe. It is a space where intercession meets empowerment, where people rediscover their voice and reconnect to God’s presence.
Today, I am walking boldly in the assignment that once scared me. I am hosting conferences like Crazy Faith Conferences building outreach initiatives, and mentoring leaders to rise in purpose. My life is proof that brokenness can become brilliance and that obedience will take you places talent never could.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God.”
That scripture isn’t just my mantra; it’s the rhythm of my life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. My journey has been one of stretching, pruning, and trusting God when I couldn’t see the outcome. Before walking boldly as Prophetess April, I faced seasons that tested everything in me. I experienced heartbreak, betrayal, loss, and moments where I questioned my own worth. There were times I felt unseen, misunderstood, and even disqualified by the very people I wanted to help.
There were also practical challenges in building both INSPIRE2FLOW and All About God Ministry. Starting something new without a blueprint meant I had to fully depend on divine direction. There were financial tests, leadership transitions, and times when I had to carry the vision alone. But through every obstacle, God was teaching me how to build with faith, not fear.
Another major obstacle was learning how to trust again. When you truly have a heart for God’s people, there will be individuals who come into your life with hidden agendas. Because my heart has always been pure, discerning those motives wasn’t always easy. I had to learn that love and wisdom must walk hand in hand. God began to sharpen my discernment and remind me of His commandment to love one another with all your heart, soul, and mind. I live by that scripture daily, but I also had to accept that not everyone who says “ministry” is truly for you. That lesson taught me to lead with love, but also with spiritual awareness.
Spiritually, the greatest challenge was surrender. Learning to release control and trust that God’s way was better than my own was not easy. I had to die to my old identity, to environments that drained me, and to relationships that couldn’t go where I was going. It was in those breaking seasons that I discovered the power of true alignment.
Those struggles refined me. They taught me that ministry isn’t about perfection, it’s about obedience. They taught me to listen more deeply, to love more intentionally, and to lead with compassion. The same pain that once broke me now fuels my purpose. And that’s why I can stand today — not because it’s been easy, but because I’ve learned how to let God turn every obstacle into oil.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice for anyone just starting out is this: don’t rush the process. Every season serves a purpose. The places where you feel hidden are often the very places where God is shaping your foundation. Learn to be faithful in the preparation because how you steward the small moments determines how you’ll handle the bigger ones.
I wish someone would have told me that success in purpose is not about perfection, it’s about obedience. There were times I tried to figure everything out on my own only to realize that God had already gone before me. If I could go back, I’d tell my younger self to rest more, trust more, and worry less.
For those stepping into ministry, entrepreneurship, or leadership, make sure your foundation is strong. Character will take you further than talent ever will. Be willing to grow, to be stretched, and to let God prune what doesn’t belong. The pruning doesn’t feel good, but it produces fruit that lasts.
And finally, never underestimate the power of surrender. When you give God your full yes, He will align the right people, open the right doors, and close the wrong ones. Your gift will make room for you, but it’s your humility and your consistency that will sustain you.
Everything you need is already within you. Your job is to trust the process, stay in alignment, and keep flowing.
